High Hopes Challenge #112

This fortnight's challenge at High Hopes is to make a Thank You project.
I thought this cute little mouse would make a great card for a teacher as its getting to that time of year again when the teachers get some peace and quiet and regain their sanity for a few weeks .... I bet they wish their pupils were always so studious and quiet!
(If you live in Europe you can get your own little Mouse Tales from Bunny Zoe's Crafts, otherwise check the High Hopes blog for your local supplier).
So get your thinking caps on and come and play along with us ... get your High Hopes stamps out and if you're the lucky winner you could win a couple of new ones of your choice!  Upload your project HERE, and have a look at the fab DT samples too!

I've coloured my little mousey with promarkers and slightly decoupaged him too. (There's also tutorials on the High Hopes blog every other Tuesday, and Debby did a great one a few weeks ago on how to 3-D your image)

Mmmmm .... lunch!

Hee hee ... don't ya just love the expression on this wee pelican's face!  Looks like his Birthday Lunch has just been delivered!

I stamped him first onto my base cardstock, stamped again onto white and coloured it in with copics, and then paper pieced onto my original.  Added some stickles for a bit of bling, and some of my lovely new DP from Echo Park.  'Pelicans Post' from High Hopes, no idea where I got the wee fish from (found in the depths of my stash!)

Don't forget about this fortnight's Dream Valley challenge ... Ribbon
and join me tomorrow if you get a chance for this fortnight's High Hopes Challenge
  • I flipped the sketch from Sketch Saturday #161
  • Corrosive #122 - water theme
  • Sweet Stampin - Something old, something new (Old=my base cardstock, sentiment and fish stamp; new=pelican stamp, cloud DP)
  • Little Darlings #2 - favourite colour combo ... I don't know what this blue is called (...like a dark duck egg blue?) but I luurrrve it, and love that it goes with so many other colours too
  • My Mum's Craft Shop #11 - one for the boys
  • Tuesday Throwdown #54 - masculine card

A birthday card for Ruby

...nah, not really (but probably because we don't know when her birthday is)  Maybe I'll let her sniff her card just in case it is! Though I'm sure she wouldn't turn her nose up at a big chocolate cake like this!
This card uses an oldie stamp from Pink Gem Designs - coloured with promarkers and loads of stickles added, along with clear gloss to the cake plate.
Oh and before I go, what do you think of this rose in my garden ... some of the flowers are white, some are red and some are both!  How clever is that!!

Just a simple note

Just a very simple little card ... flowers from Stampendous 'Happy Flowers', Tim Holtz border die, card candy coloured with grey marker and bit of glitter added, and that's about it really!

Dream Valley Challenge #10

Time for a new challenge over at Dream Valley, and this fortnight it's...Ribbon
Easy peasey!  So get out your pretty ribbon and you could win a fab prize from Crafty Ribbons
(....there was a slight pause there while I went shopping! Hee Hee ... watch out for future posts starring my new gorgeous ribbons!)
My only problem with having lovely printed ribbons is making myself use it!  Sometimes is just TOO nice!
For my card I've used some freebie ribbons ... all my friends in work save the ribbons from any new clothes purchases (those annoying bits the shops use to hold the garment to the hanger), so I've a great wee bag with every colour possible!

For my card I've used an oldie Shirley's 2 Girls stamp (... Greg asked why the cat was eating leaves, and was appalled when I told him they were feathers!!!)  Coloured with promarkers and the kitty popped up on dimensionals.

Pure Innocence

This wee CAS card took aaaaaages to make, I'd the flowers on and off this card about a million times before I finally decided where to put them!  Popped my little girl up on dimensionals and added a bit of hand stitching.

Birthday Butterflies

This is more of my gorgeous new DP from Echo Park which I luuuuurrrrve!  Coloured my little Gorjuss girl with a mixture of copics and promarkers and paper pieced the little chicken.

When life gives you lemons...

...make lemonade! Or, when the weather gives you a yeuchy overcast drizzly day ... make cards!!  So apologies in advance for blogger overload this evening!
I won this little Lemon Tree image a while back and thought it was about time it was given another outing.  Coloured with promarkers and frosted lace stickles added to lemons.

Here comes summer...?

If this wee girl was picnicing in our garden today she wouldn't need her sun cream and probably would be safer with a big umbrella!  Coloured her with promarkers, though I'll have to start colouring my skin a wee bit darker ... she's almost the same bluey-whiteness as me!

Aunty Jean's Birthday Card

ETA: This card was spotlighted over at SCACD Friends
I got a wee bit of money for my birthday ... used to be I'd put it towards new clothes or shoes.  Not now .... this time I blew the lot on some lovely new papers!  Hee hee!  This gorgeous summery DP is from Echo Park, and luckily enough I had a perfect match in plain pink!  And just in case this wasnn't summery enough, I punched out some mini flowers and added loads of bling!  Coloured my little SCACD girl with a mixture of copics and promarkers.

Gorjuss in green and pink

Urgh, the weather's back to 'normal' this morning ... overcast and showery, so it's as well we went to the beach yesterday!  My face is still glowing from all the sunshine! So its back to crafting and housework for the day, a little bit of each!

I haven't inked this little Gorjuss girl for ages, so thought I'd join in with this week's sketch from The Sugar Bowl.  Coloured with a mixture of copics and promarkers.  Marianne Creatibles swirl die; Martha Stewart butterfly punch; misc. flower punches.

Hang in there!

Well I've had a lovely birthday ... thanks everyone for your kind wishes!  We did make it to the seaside, AND the sun shone AND it was beautifully warm ... well except for the ocean which was a tad nippy until your feet go numb with the cold!

These pics were taken up at the White Rocks at Portrush, I think there were maybe a dozen people on the entire beach (and its a HUGE beach!)
We also had Fish'n'chips sitting on a bench overlooking the sea (definately the nicest way to eat them!), followed by a yummy ice cream from Morellis.

I even squeezed in a bit of crafting time today ...

This wee card uses my new cityscape stamp from Hambo, an oldie stamp from Elzybells (now sadly closed), and the other side of a Tim Holtz die that I've never used before.   Used chalk to dab in some clouds, paper pieced my little parachute, added some stickles to the swirling leaves and some Smooch Illuminate to the windows of the buildings and a few accents on the bear.
Oh, and if you didn't hear my exciting High Hopes news, scroll down to the next post!

High Hopes for my Birthday!

Its my birthday today, so I've prescheduled this post as I'm hoping to be at the seaside in glorious sunshine (....hmmm, the sunshine bit might be a bit dodgy judging by the weather this past week!)  I got a lovely birthday pressie when High Hopes challenge blog asked me to be a guest designer over the summer!  Eeeeeek!  So exciting!
As you probably know I luuurve their images, and think one of my first stamps I ever bought was a High Hopes stamp (now its just one of the many!)  and I've always loved their challenges.

So if you have a High Hopes stamp come and play along in this fortnight's challenge....
Stars and/or Stripes
Upload your card HERE
If you don't have any High Hopes stamps pop over to the blog anyway just to see the fabulous creations from the DT ... I think my card will stand out a mile as their's are sooooo much better than mine!!

I've used an older stamp called Cheeky Sean ... whaddya mean you've never seen a blue monkey!  Coloured with a mixture of promakers and copics; clear gloss added to his eyes and teeth.  I also popped his body up on dimensionals and then this nose (chin?) popped up again.  I embossed some stars into the plain BP and cut the larger ones with a sissix die.  Monkey DP from Basic Grey.  Silver peeloff sentiment and stars to finish.

I'm also entering this card into these challenges...

Birthday card for Twins

Normally when I'm asked to make a special request card I inwardly sigh, but when I was asked to make a card for a set of twins for their first birthday I knew I had the perfect High Hopes stamp which has been uninked in my stash for ages!  I wasn't sure what colour combo to use ... I couldn't just go with either blue or pink, so I chickened out and went green instead!
Coloured my little monkey babies with a mixture of copics and promarkers and added a wee bit of black stickles to their noses.  Die cut swirl and stars.  Silver peel off sentiment and letters.

Super simple Sympathy card

Yippee, I'm off work now for a WHOLE WEEK!  Feels like ages since I've been off!  Didn't do much today, just faffed about and went for a lovely walk down by the Lough shore and made a couple of wee cards.
Kept this one nice and simple - I didn't even need to get my markers out for this one!.  I've used a re-discovered mini embossing folder for the zigzag which I bought a looooong time ago and have rarely used.

Dream Valley Challenge #9

This fortnight's challenge from Dream Valley is Father's Day
... so get making your card, scrapbook page, box, whatever!  As long as it's male themed you can come and play along and get the chance to win some goodies from One Stop Card Craft and from Karen's Doodles.  Upload your card HERE and have a wee look at the DT's projects while you're there!

I've used little Herbert from Karen's Doodles on my card ... colured with promarkers, and clear gloss added to his drink and sunglasses.  Little sun from High Hopes with paperpieced cloud.

Andrea's birthday card

ETA: I won the Do You Stack Up challenge with this card!

This wee card is for my card-making SIL, so I've incorporated loads of her favourite elements that I hope she'll love! ... doggy, butterflies, cloud, twine and a bit of sparkle!
Hope you'll pop back tomorrow for the next Dream Valley Challenge!

Card Details: My wee girl and wall are stamps from CC Designs and I'm not sure about the doggy (its an old-oldie ... possibly from Cornish Heritage Farm?)  Coloured with a mixture of copics (Hair - E37,E29,E49) and promarkers for her outfit and the wall.  My swirls (Marianne Creatibles) got a bit lost on the busy DP.  Martha Stewart butterfly punch.  Card candy and pearls coloured with hot pink promarker to match colour scheme.

Aunt Renee's Birthday Card

Oh BRRRRR it's such a cold evening .... this weather better sort itself out and realise it's supposed to be SUMMER before next week as I've some time booked off work and hope to get a day or two at the beach!  If it stays like this we'll be getting frostbite going for a paddle!

Couldn't get a decent photo of this wee card either as its such a dark evening.  Coloured with a mixture of copics and promarkers, and ribbon, butterflies and card candy coloured in hot pink to match.  Clear gloss added to the wrapper on the flowers and black enamel to his nose.  Corner punch and Martha Stewart butterfly punch.  Silver peel off greeting.

Deirdre's Birthday card

It's not very often that I make a card that I love .... but this is one of them!  I found this DP which has been knocking round my stash for a couple of years, and for some reason it just inspired me this time!  This is for a friend who is never off the phone so the little SCACD image is just perfect for her!  Coloured with promarkers and popped up on dimensionals.  I added loads of pink stickles for some sparkle and glossed the telephone and her ruby lips.

An orange cutie

Well the weather men got our weather so wrong yesterday, it turned out to be a beautiful day, nice and warm and plenty of sunshine.  ... however, they got it totally right today, its rained since I got up this morning and hasn't stopped since.  Oh well, I had a nice wee morning of crafting, a gorgeous Sunday lunch, and now settling down to watch a wee Sunday afternoon movie (and maybe combined with the traditional Sunday afternoon snooze!!)
Coloured this wee Pure Innocence girl with a mixture of copics and promarkers.  Hand stitched little accents.  Beautiful blue flowers and the huge blue gem were a pressie from lovely Audrey.

A sniffy dog!

High Hopes challenge this week is 'your favourite pet or animal' and I think this is the only HH doggy stamp I have!  So he's not very ruby-like, but he's got the same sniffy nose as her!   I usually get my watercolours out for Watson, but thought I'd have a go at using my promarkers to colour him for a change.  Added some black enamel for his nose and flower soft for the grass.  I wish I'd used a brighter base though, so added some gold peel off border lines and sentiment to brighten it a bit.

A red sunflower?

Typical weekend weather ... it's been schorchio and sunny this past couple of days, but of course its due to cool today and then rain tomorrow.  Grrrr!  My wee 'Irish White' legs (ie almost 'Daz' bluey whiteness!) are destined to remain white, no tan for me!!

So I thought I'd make a sunny card instead - I remembered I had this pretty High Hopes sunflower in my stash that hadn't seen ink.  Coloured with promarkers; clear gloss added to pot, red petals and bunting, and Diamond Glamour Dust then dropped in to the gloss on the petals and bunting for a bit of sparkle.  Popped the sunflower, leaves and pot up on dimensionals.  Bunting from Practising Creativity and sentiment from Elzybells.  Little bee button and red gems from my stash.  Chalked clouds on sky.
