A nice easy challenge after last week's black & white toughie, so get your High Hopes stamps out and play along for the chance to win a new stamp of your choice.

I've used this cute wee alien from the Alien Special Set - wonder how long it will take Curiosity to spot one of these on Mars? :)

Coloured my alien with copics and added clear gloss to his eyes, and then coloured my die cut stars to match.

TCP challenge this week is ABC (Anything But a Card) so I thought I'd have a go at a wee page marker.

I used this fab airplane from The Cat's Pyjamas and some cloud dies, easy peasy!  Though a bit of ink mysteriously smudged on the bottom bit so I tried to distract from it by drawing in a bird.  Coloured with copics and clear gloss and glitter added to highlights on plane.

I won this wee kit aaaaages ago in a challenge and thought it was about time I put it together.  Its a new technique for me ... wool felting.  Basically you wrap wool round the balls and then stab them to death with needles until they all compact.  ...and yes, there were quite a few times I missed my target and spiked my poor fingers ouch!

Xmas Tag

Apologies in advance for the blogger overload this evening ... I've a couple of days off work so spent it Christmas shopping (got loads sorted!) and making cards!
Really Reasonable Ribbon challenge #13 is to make anything but a card with a Winter theme, so I combined it with a couple of tag challenges this week.

Papercraft Star #23 is to Create a Holiday Gift Tag Using...

• Cardstock
• Patterned Paper
• Stamp and/or Die Cut (Cricut or Other)
• Ribbon or Twine
• Gems or Pearls

I used a plain white scrap of ribbon and then a wee pink scrap knotted over the top of it.  Added clear gloss and glitter to the snowflake (marianne creatible die) and the white strip at the bottom, and one of my new ticket stamps as the sentiment.

Your Next Stamp challenge #28 is to make a bookmark ... and as I always end up using old scabby bus ticket stubs to mark my spot, I thought I really need to play along! 

I used up a few bits of scraps (... can you believe I barely needed to trim that bit of orange at the bottom, is that compulsive hoarding or what!) and added some green stickles to the text and dotted a border for some bling.

Tic-tac-toe Halloween Style

I've seen a few of these tic-tac-toe games in blogland so thought I'd have a go and make one for my nephew.... it'll probably give him minutes of endless amusement (he'd rather be up and wrecking about!)
I just kept my base nice and simple and hand-drew some webs and spiders.

Halloween Treat Box

My cardmaking came to a bit of a standstill this weekend as my craft shop had run out of double sided tape and so had I! 

But I made a start on my Christmas cards for my work mates and also had a go at making one of these little treat boxes - Create4Fun have a good sketch HERE and there's a Splitcoaststampers tutorial HERE (and if I can make one anyone can!)  Though originally my box was just covered in spiders, and then I thought it needed 'something', so I added the little spider in the jar and now I wish I'd just left it alone!  Oh well, I'll know for next time to plan it out a bit better!

  Well its now lovely and sunny - and I'm off out to get my sweet pea planted up!  Hopefully they'll get a chance to get started as I've some very hungry slugs in my garden (yeuch! ... they give me the shudders)

Elephants Never Forget (...not like us!)

I bought a couple of these little notebooks from Tesco's a few weeks ago, think they were 2 for £1. There had been a thick bit of elastic attached to the back panel to hold the pen and when I took the pen out it fell off ... but hey, what do you want for 50p!

Accordion File

I found the link to this really cool accordion file on the Magnolia-licious yahoo group - its just perfect for storing pre-stamped images or for swaps. My top tip though is to check you've stuck the inside envelopes in with the opening at the top - don' ask how I discovered that one, but I nearly ruined an entire mornings work! LOL!

My new and improved Button Box!

The new monthly challenge over at Just Magnolia is to alter a container. I've never 'altered' anything before so thought I'd have a go at jazzing up my button box. In a previous life it was a tub of jelly beans which my SIL gave me (...unfortunately the jelly beans are long gone!) The top flips open and there's a little silver shovel inside which is just perfect for digging out the button at the bottom of the box!

My Magn0lia image 'Tilda gathering Mushrooms' (...thanks Pat!) is now 'Tilda gathering buttons'! (As usual my glue hasn't quite dried before I took the pic) She was too big for the front panel, so I stuck her to the side panel and decorated the rest with butterflies using the same colours as I coloured Tilda. I had to leave the box reasonably see-through so I could spot the buttons inside easily.

High Hopes Blog Challenge #28

The challenge over at the High Hopes blog this week is to "think outside the card"! So basically get creative but NO cards! So I chose to make a page marker - the template for this comes from a tutorial on a posting at Splitcoaststampers. (Here is the link!)

I added Diamond Ice stickles to the ribbon and round the scalloped edge and black stickles to Ellie's eyes.
