Quick ... call the Fire Brigade!

This week's Clean And Simple challenge over at Splitcoaststampers is to make your card sparkle and I thought the layout from Card Positioning Systems #122 tied in nicely.

I've added loads of stickles - to the chickens 'red bits' (no idea what they're called!) and to the cake - candles, icing and filling. Also some little red gems added.

Supplies: main image from Penny Black, sentiment from Pink Gems Designs, copic markers, Diamond Ice stickles, dimensionals (for sentiment)

Bubbly Birthday

I didn't quite manage to finish this card - it's a special request from a workmate, but I can't remember the name of the girl its for or whether she's 30 or 40! (...so I'll just have to finish it in work tomorrow if the boss isn't looking...LOL!)

Received this PB image a while back from Pat. Coloured with watercolour pencils and stickles added to the bubbles, their noses and to the champagne.

Sketch from Penny Black Saturday Challenge #55

Simple Sympathy

ETA: I made the Favourite 5 with this card!

I don't have many sympathy cards in my stash and thought this sketch from Stamp With Us would be perfect. I do like the Clean and Simple look, especially on sympathy cards.

Supplies: Stampin Up 'Friendship Blooms'; silver peel off greeting; clear dew drops; white organza ribbon; circular nestabilities; white gel pen; olive green and white cardstock

Lovely Blue Wellies!

I treated myself to a couple of Magnolia stamps and I just love this little girl! I also 'rediscovered' my Sizzix flower dies and ran them through a cutttlebug folder to give a bit of dimension.

Sketch from Just Magnolia #11- Bev's sketch. I had everything stuck down before I remembered I was supposed to put some text at the bottom, so squeezed in a little peel off greeting.

Supplies: Magnolia stamp 'Cherry Tilda'; swiss dots embossing folder; dimensionals (for main image); sizzix flower dies; white gel pen; stickles (for baubles on her hair and the cherries on her top); copic markers

Get Well Window

Well this was a new type of card for me - using a window. I know it doesn't look like it, but the Get Well sentiment is actually on the insert inside the card (and it also looks a bit straighter IRL!)

Punched the little pink flowers to match the BP and the little Tilda with Flowers is coloured with Copic markers. Added purple stickles to her baubles, to the flowers in the basket and to the pink punched flowers.

Pink & Green Sympathy

(25.06.09 E.T.A. I won the Stamps and Smiles goodie bag for this card!)
I love this really simple layout from Stamps and Smiles #20 and the pink/green colour combo is from the Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge #37

Hand stitched borders (takes sooooo long - I'd love a little tiny sewing machine!) and added peel off greeting and flowers in corners.

Supplies: paper from Rubber Soul, stamp from Stampin Up 'Friendship Blooms', cuttlebug, circular nestabilities

Another snowman

Another little snowman... this time for the Winter Wonderland challenge #4 - Blue Christmas. I love this challenge blog - its great actually feeling as if I might not have the usual last minute slog of making Christmas cards this year!

Added loads of little blue gems for some bling, and Diamond ice stickles to his hat and cuffs of his mittens. Central panel popped up on dimensionals.

The Sweet Stop - sketch with a spin

The Sweet Stop have a sketch with a spin on it this week - you must use red, white and blue along with the sketch.

I just got this little snowman this week from Pink Gems Designs - I coloured his hat and mittens with my Copic marker and went over the stars on his hat with the copic too, but when I then added my Diamond Ice stickles the colour seems to have run a bit ... must remember not to do that again!

The papers and sentiment sticker came from Vikki when I was lucky enough to win some of her blog candy. The little mittens are from an old Stampin Up set and are popped up on dimensionals.

Flutter by Butterfly!

Isn't this little Butterfly Tilda just the cutest! (Another one from the lovely Pat!) Coloured with Copic markers and loads of blue stickles added for some bling. Hand doodled border.

For colouring I followed the June colour challenge from Magnolia-licious - it's a really tough combo but I found this bp in my stash and it matched the butterfly wings perfectly!

Allsorts Challenge #6 is Wings, so I added another couple of butterflies just to be sure!

Sketch from Friday Sketchers #57

Pink Giraffe!

This week's High Hopes challenge #36 is to use up your scraps - I had the stripey bit and the spotty bit left over in my Papermania 'Sweet Nothings' pile.
Paper pieced the giraffe and hand stitched borders with my lovely embroidery thread - it changes into several shades of pink but doesn't really show in pic.
Added pink dew drops, a pink flower button and some silver peel off letters.
Supplies: stamp from High Hopes

Baby Giraffe

Needed a baby card but didn't know if its a boy or a girl yet and thought I'd make it to the Unscripted Sketches #11 challenge.

Coloured the main image with my watercolour pencils and then popped up on dimensionals. Doesn't show well in photo, but there's a little mini silver safety pin in the middle of the knotted ribbon.

Supplies: stamp from Kars & Co, silver peel off lettering, paper from Rubber Soul, red gems

Sugar Nellie Flowers

This is the first time I've played in the Sugar Bowl challenge - luckily Pat has sent me a couple of Sugar Nellie images, and she also sent me this lovely chipboard flower, amongst loads of other goodies! It wasn't quite the right colour, so I gave it a touch with my copic markers and hey presto, a matching flower!

The Sugar Bowl challenge #13 is a sketch, and you also have to use the clour Kraft (which I think is a brown colour)

Supplies: Sugar Nellie Flowers, Copic markers, cuttlebug embossing folders, gold gems and multi coloured gems (for the flowers in her hat), brown ribbon, gold peel off greeting

A little pick up

Three Clovers Designs challenge #18 is to create a one-layer card with no patterned paper.
I was blog-hopping the other night and saw a card with stitching on it like this (...if it was you, let me know and I'll give credit where its due!)
The flowers at the bottom are bright red and green gems, but they didn't photograph well. Also added little red gems to the flowers on the truck. Truck coloured with H2Os which I haven't used for ages, and then popped up on dimensionals.
Supplies: Stamps from Stampin Up 'Loads of Love'

Happy Birthday from Ruby!

This is one of my new stamps from Pink Gems, and I must admit I bought it because I thought the little dog looked like my Ruby! (sad isn't it!)
Simon Says Challenge blog are celebrating their first birthday and this week's challenge is to make them a birthday card.
Hand stitched border and coloured main image with Copic markers.

Dangerman Derek!

This is actually a get well card for my uncle who dropped an axe on his foot and broke his toe... ouch! I don't have any pics of axes but found this little hammer in my stash. The inside reads 'Dropping tools on toes can cause injury' ... I must admit I was laughing when I made this card, hopefully Derek will too when he gets it in the post!

Also fits the Creative Card Crew challenge #15 - Black + one other colour

Hand doodled the black and white Danger border and added black stickles to the writing and silver stickles to the hammer.

My new and improved Button Box!

The new monthly challenge over at Just Magnolia is to alter a container. I've never 'altered' anything before so thought I'd have a go at jazzing up my button box. In a previous life it was a tub of jelly beans which my SIL gave me (...unfortunately the jelly beans are long gone!) The top flips open and there's a little silver shovel inside which is just perfect for digging out the button at the bottom of the box!

My Magn0lia image 'Tilda gathering Mushrooms' (...thanks Pat!) is now 'Tilda gathering buttons'! (As usual my glue hasn't quite dried before I took the pic) She was too big for the front panel, so I stuck her to the side panel and decorated the rest with butterflies using the same colours as I coloured Tilda. I had to leave the box reasonably see-through so I could spot the buttons inside easily.

Get well Bunny!

Die Cut Dreams are having their first challenge this week - Green Fingers. I thought this little bunny would be perfect as we have a very small vegetable plot for the first time this year and we definately don't want any rabbits munching on our carrots!

Coloured with copics and carrots and fence mounted on dimensionals. Stamped carrots on green background with Versamark clear ink.

Sketch from Mojo Monday #91

Supplies: bunny stamp from Joanna Sheen 'Messy Rabbit', cuttlebug flower embossing folder, gold gems, carrots from Cornish Heritage Farm

Circus Time

When I first saw this sketch from Card Patterns #19 it made me think of a circus tent, but I think I should really have used stripey paper.

Coloured with watercolour pencils and added gold peel off greeting (thanks Aunty Minnie!)

Supplies: Stamp from High Hopes, paper from Rubber Soul

Gorgeous girl?

I had a rummage through my stash today and 'rediscovered' this old lady stamp ... isn't she fabulous! Coloured her with watercolour pencils and mounted on dimensionals.

Followed the sketch from Splitcoaststampers SC231.

Stamp with Fun's challenge #11 is Dots

Supplies: paper from Rubber Soul, stamps from Creative Expressions, red & blue gems

That Ole' Devlil Called Love...

I've treated myself to a Birthday Week off work, so expect plenty of uploads this week as the weather is supposed to be a bit pants!

This card follows the sketch from The Sweet Stop and the colour challenge from Daring Cardmakers - Sizzling Hot.

I used my Kiss & Hug folder from Ellison to emboss the background and coloured the little devil with my Copic markers. I blended yellow and orange and ended up with a devil that's the same colour as my backing paper ... entirely on purpose of course! (not!)
Added clear gloss and loads of red glitter to all the hearts.

Supplies: Whipper snapper stamp, gold peel off greeting, red gems, white gel pen, copic markers, cuttlebug

Birthday Doggie

Another really quick card - think it took about 10 minutes, which is a new record for me! Added black stickles to the focal doggy's nose and mounted on dimensionals.

The Penny Black Saturday Challenge is celebrating its first birthday this week and has loads of goodies up for grabs. This week's challenge is, of course, Celebrate!

High Hopes challenge #35 is Loads of Circles. I used an Ellison folder to make my 'circly' background. By the way, I won last week's High Hopes challenge - I know it was a random generator, but I'm still really chuffed. Can't wait till my goodies come now as I really love their stamps!

Supplies: Dog from Penny Black, sentiment from Stampin Up

Purple'n'pink

I haven't added a greeting to the tag yet, but I think its going to be a 'Happy Birthday' card for my sis! Coloured with watercolour pencils - I went a bit wrong when I was colouring the raffia on the tag so it looks a bit odd to me! Added loads of bling, and mounted central frame on dimensionals.

Sketch from Friday Sketchers #56

Colour theme from Colour Create #19 - Blush Pink, Lilac, Moss green

Snowfall !

This week's Winter Wonderland challenge #3 is Let It Snow - I got this cute lil' guy in a swap last year. Added diamond stickles to his hat for a bit of bling and mounted the central panel on dimensionals. A really quick card to make - no colouring or faffing about!

The snowflake button and papers are from last year's stash.

Play in the puddles

ETA: I won the High Hopes challenge for this card!

Oops I almost missed this week's High Hopes challenge - sketch below. This is one of the first HH stamps I bought!

Cute Card Thursday's challenge #64 was Quotations

And Daring Cardmakers challenge is Weather (unfortunately we get plenty of the Rain variety of weather!)

Added clear gloss to her wings and to the puddle but doesn't really show in the photo.

Roses Tilda

Took me a while to get used to my Copic markers, but I'm finding it a bit easier now that my collection is growing a bit (I joined GinaK's monthly club, but I'm always so impatient to see what next month's set is!)
My background papers were freebies but I can't think where I got them from - I'll have to have a look and see if I can find them again!
Sketch from 2 Sketches 4 You #28
Spoonful of Sugar #45 - Butterflies (I have a butterfly on my roses and some butterfly gems)
ABC Challenge: R is for Roses

Belinda Gardener

I won this little stamp from the Crafty Pad's recent giveaway, so thought I'd have a play in their challenge this week! Coloured with copic markers and little gems added to the butterfly and to the bow in her hair.

Up, up, and away...

This week's challenge at Three Clovers Designs is Cards for Men.

I bought this balloon stamp ages ago - I keep forgetting I have it but every time I remember to use it I love how it turns out!

I made the cloud background using a little cloud template and sponging with turquoise ink, but can't remember which site I found it on.

Supplies: stamp from I Brake For Stamps, gold peel off birthday greeting, gold gems, balloons coloured with copic markers, cuttlebug embossing folder.

Blooming Gorgeous

I've had this Penny Black stamp almost since I started stamping and think its my most used stamp ever!

The Penny Black Saturday Challenge this week is Blooming Gorgeous and the sketch layout is from Polka Doodle using 3 different papers and at least 1 flower

Supplies: Penny Black stamp, circular nestabilities, green embroidery thread, orange flower and button, mixed mini gems for the bouquet and larger gems for corners, watercolour pencils, Crafts House Tutti Frutti papers
