Xmas card #26

Sorry for the blogger overload tonight, but I've had some of these cards knocking round my kitchen (a.k.a. my craft room!) needing finished for a few days now.  This was a super simple one- the image came as part of a paper pack I bought, so I just blinged him up with some stickles and clear gloss and made a sparkly snowflake for the corner.  Easy Peasy.  (Oh and its my last post as September's Guest Designer for Shirley's 2 Girls tomorrow - I hope you'll tune in for this week's challenge!)

Pink'n' Green Chrissy card #25

Lili of the Valley challenge #66 is to make a non-traditional Christmas card, so I used pink as my base colours (don't think I've ever made a pink Christmas card that wasn't all girly)  It was also a great excuse to play with my new snowflake dies (covered them in Smooch Illuminate to give them a bit of extra interest).  I had planned to sew round the image but my thread got all jammed half way through so I just pulled it out and hey presto, nice even paper piercing!  I might add some bling to the very bottom line of piercing on the pink as I think it looks like it needs 'something'

Spider overload!

s-h-u-d-d-e-r .....I hate spiders sooo much!  Even this smiley dude I'm not so sure about!  And its that time of year when the monsters take up residence in my house ... we had a HUGE one the other night - I'll swear I heard him walking across the floor, and he didn't have a cute smile like this one! (Thank goodness Greg isn't afraid of them or I'd have to move house!)

Hang in there (and an award!)

It's been 'one of those' weeks in work (yes I know its ONLY Tuesday!) so I was delighted to get home this evening and find the postie had left me some goodies ... a few weeks ago I was lucky enough to win High Hopes candy for advertising their new release stamps.  I got a HUGE pile of new releases ... I actually stacked them up and measured them ... 8 1/2 centimetres .... 25 stamps!!!  WOW!  And there's loads of lovely Christmas ones, so you can expect to see plenty of them over the next few weeks!

So this is the first of my new goodies, isn't he a sweetie!  Coloured him with copics and added clear gloss to his balloon and his nose.

Sketch from 2 Sketches 4 You #62

Colour combo from SPCC #67 (though I couldn't resist adding a little pop of red!)

And THANK YOU to Benzi for this lovely award - Benzi was one of the first internet buddies I 'met' through Splitcoaststampers waaayyyyy back before we all got caught up in this blogging lark!

Xmas Card #24

Its such a beautiful Autumn day here - I had to pull the curtain in the kitchen as the sun was beating in on me and I was about to spontaneously combust with the heat!  But I'm determined to crack on with my Chrissy cards, so we're now up to No. 24 - only about another 76 to go then!

When I was adding the clear gloss to drop the flower soft snow in there was a minor crisis when I dribbled on my blue BP, so I just added a few more blobs and then a bit of glitter, and hey presto, its now part of the design dharlink!

Piggin' Thanks!

ETA: I won Creative Inspirations challenge with this card

You've no idea how long it took to make this simple little card - first off I stamped the fence too far down the page so had to start again.  Then I had the bright idea of stitching round the clouds with my sewing machine .... so half an hour after that not-so-bright idea I got my white pen out and doodled some faux stitching instead!

Creative Inspirations #79 is to use 2 or more stamped images - I was too lazy to start masking my little pig's trotters, so I just stamped him and then popped another of the same up on dimensionals.

Shirley's 2 Girls .... spooky time!

Twisted Thursday at Shirley's 2 Girls this week is 'spooky time' ... how scary is this little witchy dog?  [Not!]
In fact I think I know this dog in real life.... it's the double of my brother and SIL's dog Amber - here's a pic of her resting up in preparation for her spooking on Halloween night...!  (And it wouldn't surprise me if her cape and hat are hanging ready in the wardrobe!)

Don't forget to play along with your spooky critters ... and you could win some fantastic S2G digis of your own.

Simon Says ... Move It

This week's Simon Says challenge is to make an element of your card move, but I'm afraid my mojo deserted me tonight!  I originally was going to make a spinner card but its now in the recycling bin - I couldn't get it to spin right ... maybe I need round dimensionals?

So this is the next effort and I used one of the springy mounts that's been in my stash forever (one of those 'have to have' buys that then lies unloved and unused!)  Then when I was adding the ribbon I had another disaster - if I don't have much left I just measure it the width of the front and overlap it to the back a little and then tie the knot.  So far so good... but then when I was cutting the tails off the ribbon I sliced through the main bit too!  AAARRRRGGGGHHHH!  So that's how the little double knot appeared.... enough card making for me tonight I think!

Wee three kings...

This is definately my last post of the evening - in case you hadn't already guessed its been raining all afternoon (AGAIN) so there's been plenty of cardmaking!  I was going so well with this card till I realised I should have coloured the central hat gold to match my embellies instead of silver so I covered it with glossy accents and dropped in loads of gold glitter, but it kinda drowned his little hand!
Right, I'm off now to watch the rest of Charlotte's Web, I love that little piggy!

Hoppy Birthday

I've had this digi from Hambo lying in my stash since I used it for some Easter cards, but Cute Card Thursday challenge #129 is Play on words, so I thought it would be good as a Hoppy Birthday card.

And Charisma challenge #36 is to try something new, so I made this ruffled ribbon that I've been meaning to try for a while.  You just sew a running stitch along the ribbon and then pull it into ruffles, dead easy!

Baby Boy

Oops, I think I put the scud on the weather from my last post this morning boasting about how sunny it was ... the rain's now chucking it down!  Oh well, at least it lasted long enough for me to get the weeding done and hanging baskets emptied, so the garden looks nice and tidy now.

There's a new challenge blog on the go - Oldie But Goodie - to use a stamp you've had for at least 6 months and their first challenge is New Beginnings.  I used this Shirleys 2 Girls stamp I bought back at the start of the year to make some Thank You cards for my sis after the birth of my wee niece.

Sketch is the bonus one from 2S4Y #69 - though I flipped it on its side as I thought the triangles looked like bunting
