Miaowy Birthday

Just a quickie post ... movie night tonight and it's ready to start - tonight's choice is Rum diary, looks like it might be a laugh.
ETA: the movie was just 'average' - I wouldn't bother if I was you!

Masked off my kitties so I could make a group of 3 from the same stamp.  Chalked my sky and paper pieced my wee kitty, and then popped image up on dimensionals.

Mmmmm, cupcakes!

I'm not sure when it happened, but cupcakes used to be called 'buns' here!  Now there's 'cupcakes' everywhere!  Our local shop does the nicest chocolate ones too ... guess where our first stop was after our weigh in at Slimming World tonight!  Very naughty, but very yummy!

These lovely die cuts came in a package from Mags, they're even nicer in real life with all the shiny silver bits.  Sentiment stamp from Paper Smooches.

Xmas Card #08

I got this gorgeous snowflake die a while ago ... this mightn't be the best way to use it, but I was dying to give it a go!
Coloured my wee bunny with copics, clear gloss on his nose and blinged up my snowballs with some glitter.

Sick Kitty

I 'found' this stamp recently at the back of my stash and thought he deserved a wee inking.  I don't make many one layer cards, so I'm quite pleased with how this turned out.
Coloured with pencils, paper pieced his wee bandage and blinged up his nose with some black glitter.

Don't look now!

Hee, how's this for a fun card!  I bought this wee stamp from Hambo aaaaaages ago cause I thought he was so funny, and then when he arrived in the post I was stumped as to what to do with him!  I mean, what do you do with an image of a flasher?!! So he's sat unloved and uninked in my crafty stash, til now....
This card is for a friend of ours who's going for a wee surgical op in his, ahem, 'nether regions'!  Ta Da, suddenly this image is just perfect!  Do you like the addition of the wee saw brad?  It was nearly going to be a pair of scissors, but I thought a saw was even funnier!  I know, I'm evil.  But boy did I have a good laugh making this!

Paper pieced his robe, and cut a few stars with a Taylored Expressions die.  Sentiment / letters from Paper Smooches.
I've noticed that I'm always complaining in my blog about the weather, so from now on I'm looking for the positives!  Hmmm - hard to do when it didn't stop raining yesterday for even 5 minutes!  Well, at least I haven't had to bother watering my garden!  And the Six Mile Water was in very impressive form today ... usually its a nice ambient river, but today it was a total torrent.  A wee man (isn't there always a wee man no matter where you go who knows everything?!) told us the water had dropped about 4ft from yesterday!

Happy Anniversary

Right, that's it, I'm officially fed up with our weather! Our garden had been blooming lovely after a wee bit of sunshine a week or two ago, and then a couple of nights ago we'd an awful wind and it destroyed our delphinium which was about to produce its best blooms ever, and whacked down our lovely lupin.  And it's done nothing but rain for days now.  I'm putting in an order for some decent weather, might even get my sandals on. (well, maybe under my wellies - Ha!)

I like a nice cuppa tea!

I must admit to being a bit of a tea-addict (wouldn't thank you for a cup of coffee), so I loved having a play with these decoupage sheets that Mags B sent me in a recent candy parcel - thanks Mags!  I didn't realise my pic was so out of focus and I also forgot to take an angle pic so you could see all the layers.

Woof!

Sorry, no craic in me today at all.  I'm loaded with the cold and have wee piggy eyes and a big red nose ... yes I look delightful but thankfully it didn't spoil my birthday yesterday! Another year wiser (ha) and feelin about another 20 older!
I've always fancied having a go with one of the sketches over at Sketch Inspiration, so this is my first effort.  Takes a bit of thinking to change a scrapbook LO into a card LO!

ETA I won at Totally Papercrafts!

Oh Christmas Tree

My lovely bloggy buddy Dotty Jo sent me this cute wee penguin stamp for my birthday ... cheers Jo!  Can you believe I had to have a think on how to colour a penguin. Doh.  Added some of my fluffy fibres to his wee hat and plenty of sparkle to the baubles and snow.

Father's Day kitty

Hmmm, not sure about this one!  It looks fabulously sparkly in real life as I added half a tonne of glitter to his balloon, but I think it needs something, I'll have to have a wee think and maybe add some die cut stars or see what else I can find.
Image from Penny Black, coloured with pencils.

Aunt Jean's birthday card

This is my much unloved DP that I'm gradually using up ... though I must admit I'm liking it more than I had been!  Even better now I've discovered that coral and sunkissed pink promarkers match this odd shade of peachy/pink perfectly.
Added some clear gloss to the wee table and chairs and also to the tea set.  A few gems and my new ivy tendrils die, and Bob's your uncle!

Fluffy cheerleader

My bloggy buddy Pat used this Sugar Nellie stamp recently, and inspired me to get mine out for an inking.  Coloured her with copics and added some of this fluffy fibre stuff that I bought at the craft fair in the King's Hall recently.

Aunt Renee's birthday card

I know I'm not a Tilda fan, but I do LOVE this wee girl ... I just wish she looked a bit happier.  Still haven't got the hang of colouing her hair yet ;)

Coloured with copics and some stickles added for a bit of glitz.  Clear gloss added to watering can and trowel.  Sentiment popped up on dimensionals.

SPARKS challenge

Just a couple of short posts from me tonight ... I was out tidying our front yard all day and I'm pooped!  Still managed to squeeze in a few cards though :)

All my images and text are from various Paper Smooches sets.  Paper pieced my bat and the wee birdie and also gave the bird a googley eye.

Sympathy tree

Ohhh we've had the most beautiful sunny day today, and went for a scoot up the coast.  I've discovered a website Walk NI with loads of wee walks to places I've never heard of, so off we went to Carnlough to see Cranny Falls.  After a slight delay, when we went the 'scenic' way after spotting a wee cave in the cliff (i.e. we got a bit lost!!) the falls were a lovely sight.  As was the chip shop on the way back to the car.  Fish'n'chips in the sunshine .... lovely, followed by ice cream for dessert!  (ssh don't tell Slimming World!)  We even saw a couple of Red Kites gliding round the cliffs and it was a fabulous sight.

I always have great difficulty making Sympathy cards, but when I saw this card made by Stephanie (today's featured stamper over at Splitcoaststampers) it just kinda fell into place.  I got this old tree stamp quite a while ago from Practicing Creativity - coloured with promarkers and then added clear gloss and glitter to the leaves - it's lovely and sparkly in real life but I couldn't really get a decent pic.
Here's a wee pic of pretty Carnlough bathed in sunshine...
and wee Ruby, pooped after her day out ....!

Monsters and Mushrooms

This wee card took aaaaages of faffing about with, but I love how it turned out!
I couldn't get a marker to match my DP so I paper pieced my wee mushrooms, and then I decided that my monster needed some fancy trousers too :)

ETA: I won at There She Goes!

We are sailing....

This wee boy's boat would have been perfect for the river that was our road yesterday after all that torrential rain!  But at least the sky is finally starting to clear - all we need now is to get a bit of sunshine!  It doesn't feel right that we still have our jumpers and the heating on and it's almost the middle of June.

Gorgeous DPs from Bo Bunny.  LOTV image coloured with mixture of promarkers and pencils - clear gloss added to the hull of the boat and to his shoes, and some sparkle to the wee flag at the top.

Come fly with me

Sorry, couldn't get a decent pic of this card - never mind that I managed to cover up my embossed clouds and vanished the sketch!   Our horrible drizzly damp weather disappeared today ... and instead we had lashing rain!  Hope the weather wises up soon as I'm off work all next week ... well if the Queen can celebrate for 4 days, I can have a whole week off work for my birthday! Ha!

And how's this for a bit of excitement ... we had some of the Olympic torch bearers in work so I got to hold a torch!  It's quite heavy but very impressive ... though yes, if it had been mine it would have been straight on e-bay after the official photo, and  I would be straight down to the travel agent! (Excuse the crappy work t-shirt and my rain-flattened hair LOL!)

PS Jenny has a surprise giveaway on her blog: Wee Memories
(...a crafty surprise, not an Olympic torch Hee!)

Andrea's birthday card

This is for my sister in law ... she's a card making demon and makes hundreds of cards every year for our local doggy shelter, so hope she likes it!

Coloured with copics; loads of stickles added and clear gloss to the watering can and trowel (no need of a watering can here, we've had nothing but rain this past few days and more due too!); heart die from Taylored Expressions.

"We're all going on a summer holiday"

No I'm not going on holiday yet, but wish I was ... it's been a yeuchy drizzly dark day today, such a difference to our lovely sun yesterday!  I started off with all good intentions of doing some spring cleaning in my wardrobes, got bored and ended up playing with my crafty stuff instead.  Much more enjoyable!

You might think the tape measure ribbon looks a bit odd on this wee card... but its actually for my Slimming World consultant, just to say thanks.  She's off on her hols next week, so I thought a  pic of her on the beach was perfect! Ha!

Image from Your Next Stamp - coloured with promarkers and popped up on dimensionals.  Sentiment from paper smooches.
Right that's me away to get my cross stitch out that I started back at the end of February ... at the minute it looks like this:
and the finished product will look like this (quite a bit to go yet!)

Cuddle a kitten!

We've had a lovely sunny day today ... the weather was just perfect for the family fun day I was at down at Stormont.  Next time you see someone collecting donations with a charity bucket on their arm, feel some sympathy for them - those buckets are HEAVY, especially as people are so generous!

This is another of my favourite LOTV images, paired with some of my least favorite DPs!  It was ever so pretty in the pack, but I find it almost impossible to use!  Image coloured with a mix of pencils and copics, with some orange stickles added for a bit of bling.  Silver peel off birthday sentiment.

Pretty in Purple

Brrr, dull and chilly here today.  We have the Olympic Torch run doing the rounds of Northern Ireland over the next couple of days so hopefully we won't get the pouring rain they had in London for the Queen's flotilla down the Thames!  The torch comes through my town on Thursday, but we've a 'Do' in work and I can't get the time off! :(

Penny Black at Allsorts June challenge is to show your favorites, so I had a fun time making this card. I think this wee LOTV stamp is possibly one of my favorites.  My ribbon is definitely treasured, so much so that I hardly use it .. now where's the sense in that!

Coloured with a mixture of copics, promarkers and pencils.  Paper pieced her wee t-shirt and butterfly.  I recently re-discovered my liquid pearls (and went a bit crazy!) and added some purple stickles to my diamonds.  Sentiment also from Lili of the Valley. Notebook edge die and scalloped edge from Die-namics.

PS for Pat: Sorry, I can't figure out how I leave you a message on your new blog!
