Pretty in Purple!

I love these pretty Gorjuss girl stamps. I've been practising my colouring too - this time she's coloured with watercolour pencils.

I put a strip of gold peel off border line along the edge of the sentiment, but it looks black in the photo.

Sketch from Sketch Saturday #53 - there's loads of candy up for grabs for everyone who takes part in the challenge.

Also for Cute Card Thursday's challenge #62 - Bit o'Bling - I used loads of gold gems in various sizes.

Supplies: paper from K&Co; primas; gems; circular nestabilities; watercolour pencils; gold peel off lines

Bzzzzzzz.....

ETA: I won the Simon Says Challenge with this card! Yeah... its the weekend and the sun has actually shone ALL WEEKEND!!! (...makes a welcome change!)

This weeks challenge over on the High Hopes blog is No Corners, so I slightly amended the sketch challenge at Polka Doodle.
Also for Simon Says challenge - aminals (I've a bit of a bee theme going on here!)

Supplies: really old paper from my stash; honey bee bear from High Hopes; little bees from Messy Rabbit set; circular nestabilities; stickles (on wings and bear's nose); yellow dew drops

Pink Ellie

Made this little card for the Stamp with Fun sketch challenge #8 - you can win a fab Scrapmagasinet stamp!

Over at Creative Card crew the challenge is 'Pretty Flowers' - and up for grabs is a set of Cuttlebug Scallop Square Dies.

Supplies: High Hopes elephant stamp; pink and purple primas, purple and pink Stickles; watercolour pencils; white gel pen

Grrreat!

Well its a typical Bank Holiday here... was out this morning and bought some plants for my hanging baskets, got home and it started raining .... and hasn't stopped since! Good job I'm off tomorrow - hopefully the weather wises up a bit! Oh well on the bright side, crappy weather = crafty time!

I got this slightly mad and so not scary bear a while back - cost me a fortune but I don't care! (Most of my Stampin Up sets are cheapos from ebay!)

High Hopes Blog Challenge #32 - use pink and brown.

Sketch layout from Sketch & Stash #11

Supplies: Stampin Up 'Under the Stars', paper from Rubber Soul, black stickles (for nose), pink spotty brads (thanks Linda!), pink primas and pink gems, plain brown cardstock, watercolour pencils

Pretty in Pink!

I received this lovely girl from Linda when I won her blog candy a while back. I've been practicing my colouring with Copics and discovered when I'd finished that I'd coloured her dress the same shade as a bunch of flowers in my kitchen window!

The little girl and the white frame are popped up on dimensionals, but it doesn't really show in the pic.

Ken's 60th Birthday

I was asked to make a card for a 60-year old fireman ... normally this would floor me but luckily I chose this stamp when I won the PB Challenge a few months ago and thought it was just perfect!

Sketch from Sketch Saturday #52
Spoonful of Sugar #52 - Celebrate (mine's a birthday celebration)
Penny Black Saturday Challenge #50 - Buttons Galore (does 4 buttons count as 'galore'?!)

Supplies: Penny Black stamp, buttons from stash, white gel pen, watercolour pencils, diamond ice stickles (for icing), peel off letters and numbers

Party Doggy!

Don't ya love this fun party dog! Added stickles to his nose and to his hat, and coloured with copic markers. The bones are from the Stampin Up set too - paper pieced them onto white card and mounted one of them on dimensionals.

Sketch from Polka Doodle #2

Supplies: Swiss Dots cuttlebug embossing folder, circular nestabilities, stickles, copic markers, peel off greeting

Hedgie

I had another bash with my new Copic markers today - I've been watching a few videos on YouTube to try and figure out the technique so its a bit better than it was (...though plenty more practice needed ... and maybe more markers too!!)

Sketch from Sketch and Stash Challenge blog #10 (new stash is my copics, and my unloved stash is this blue butterfly gem)

Supplies: Penny Black stamp, paper Rubber Soul, white gel pen, copic markers, blue dew drops

Brown Doggy

It's been raining most of the afternoon, so loads of cards made! Bit of a theme running through them - a friend is having a fundraiser for a doggy charity, so plenty of animals today!

This sketch is from Stamps and Smiles #16

Supplies: Stamps from Stampin Up 'Ruff Day'; black stickles for nose; paper from stash (not sure but I think its from The English Heritage Co); white gel pen; watercolour pencils; amber gems

Sarah's 3rd Brithday

Oh dear, this was 'one of those' cards. First of all I stamped this little clown on my new watercolour paper which turned out to be absolute rubbish. In the bin it went. Then I tried again on plain paper and my Copic markers, had brain freeze, and coloured the clown's shoes in brown. Brown? what was I thinking for a little girl! In the bin it went! So this is my 3rd and final attempt - still not happy with it but it will have to do (... 2 hours is more than enough on a Birthday card!)

I don't really have any 'litle girl' stamps, so I'll have to get some fairy princess ones or something!

Layout from 2 Sketches 4 You (...sort of)

Supplies: stamp from High Hopes, diamond ice stickles, Mac'n'Cheese alphabet diecuts, pink primas, silver peel off numbers, Copic markers

Two the same but different!

Made the card for Morag, decided I liked it, so made another the same but different!

The little silver padded fabric butterfly on Morag's card is from a set of butterflies and flowers that Mum and Aunty Minnie brought back from their travels - the two of them seem to be addicted to craft shops (...lucky me!!)
Sketch for both from Papertake Weekly
Supplies: Penny Black stamp; watercolour pencils; various flowers; stickles; Paper card 1 from Brenda Walton; silver peel off greetings

Cookie Friend!

Well its a showery blustery morning here... just perfect for crafting!

Kept this card quite simple - I'm trying to cut back on my layers as its impossible to send anything through the mail without paying big postage... and I'm not even convinced that this card will make the cheaper postage!

The sketch came from Card Positioning Systems #116; the colour theme from One Stop Craft Challenge #29 - pink and brown; and the doodled border for the High Hopes Challenge - Can ya doodle! (no I can't doodle, so I just doodled a simple border!)
Crafty Creations #15 - chocolate - I used chocolate paper, ribbon and chocolate themed sentiment - was going to make a chocolate cookie but changed it at the last minute to make it pink! (Plus for extra bonus points I ate a bar of Cadbury's chocolate while making it!)

I bought a wee box of mixed gems recently from a home products cleaning catalogue and they turned out to be much smaller in real life than they looked in the catalogue ... but they have been the best buy ever! There are 3 sizes on this card - ickle tiny ones for the cookie, slightly bigger on the sentiment and then the 'biggest' ones on the flowers.

Supplies: stamps from Inkadoodle, chocolate brown paper, patterned paper from Rubber Soul, chocolate ribbon; white gel pen and brown marker for borders; watercolour pencils.

Happy Birthday Duckie!

The sketch for this card came from Friday Sketchers #52 ... not sure if mine works or not, as I couldn't quite get my head round it!
The Penny Black Saturday Challenge #49 is a recipe - 3 flowers, 2 papers, 1 brad. I used buttons instead of flowers as I was trying to make a boys card ... and boys don't do flowers! Got my dimensions a bit wrong, so you can't really see the 2nd patterned paper inside the semicircles.
Coloured the little ducky with Copics and added some Stickles for a bit of glitter.
Supplies: Penny Black Stamp, paper from Rubber Soul, buttons from my stash, ice diamond stickles, copic pens, square silver brad, silver peel off birthday greeting

Goodies from Linda

I won Linda's blog candy a few weeks ago, so it felt like my birthday had come early this week when her goodies arrived! Cheers Linda!

Virtually everything on this card was courtesy of Linda - the image, the papers, the gorgeous crochet flower and the buttons.

New kennel?

I was asked to make another New Home card by a friend in work. The DT cards over on Sunday Sketch and Stamp #2 reminded me that I had this dog kennel stamp (sorry can't remember who made it, but it was a cheapie foam mounted set).

Coloured with watercolour pencils and popped main image up on dimensionals. Doodled borders with white gel pen and added silver peel off lettering.
Paper from Rubber Soul

Thank You Card

The challenge over on the High Hopes blog this week is: One for the Boys - make a male themed card. I combined it with the Stamp with us challenge: Thanks

Used my cuttlebug to add some texture to the 'grass' and the truck is popped up on dimensionals. Chalked the clouds in the sky.

Supplies: Stampin Up 'Loads of Love'; sticky ribbon; pewter brads; watercolour pencils

Dog Days!

This little stamp turned out too big to be 'inchies', so they're more 'inch-and-a-halfies'! This great sketch is from Card Patterns #14 and is also for the Penny Black Saturday Challenge - Black, White + 1 other.
I added diamond ice stickles to the presents and glear gloss and black glitter to the doggy noses. Hand doodled round borders with a white gel pen and black pen.
The button is from my stash and says 'Dog Days' but it doesn't really show up in the photo. Supplies: Penny Black stamp, stickles/glitter, gingham red ribbon, red gems

Is this a picture of innocence or of total guilt? Ruby very helpfully decided she didn't like where I'd planted my sweetpeas yesterday and dug them up for me!

Engagement Card (s!)

I was asked by a work colleague to make a card for her friend whose pet name is Ailseroonie (don't ask me!!) So her new fiance is now known as Glyneroonie!

The High Hopes blog challenge this week was to use heat embossing. I don't have any suitable HH stamps, so used this Stampin Up one.

My first attempt at this card followed the Sweet Stop sketch, but I hadn't left enough room for their names.

So my second attempt followed the layout from Sketch Saturday and was a bit more successful, though I'm still not sure about it. (I'm no good at making lovey-dovey cards and they're up there with sympathy cards as cards I don't like making!)

Supplies: Stampin Up Congratulations stamp; paper from Rubber Soul 'Divine'; pink primas; pink gems; pink dew drops; floradoodle flowers; chocolate brown paper; silver embossing powder.

New Home

Challenge 1: Sketch from Three Clovers Thursday.

Challenge 2: Spoonful of Sugar - Add Texture - I used my embossing folders and lace ribbon

Challenge 3: Creative Card Crew - Everyone Emboss. I used 2 different embossing folders.

Supplies: stamp from http://www.onefourzero.co.uk/ ; cuttlebug embossing folders; pink primas; blue gems; gold gems (in house windows); dimensionals (for sentiment); white gel pen; watercolour pencils

Wedding Congratulations!

My Aunty Minnie bought me these beautiful papers - I almost begrudge using them as they're so nice!

I used heat embossing for the first time in ages and ages - I'm not sure if I should colour the bears in or leave them as they are. What do you think?

Sketch from Papertake Weekly

Supplies: Forever Friends stamp; silver EP: silver 3-d paint (for blobs in corners); metallic ribbon; dimensionals (for central panel); Laura Ashley papers

Some sympathy cards

0
I needed a few sympathy cards for my stash - I think they're my least favourite type of card and I find them so hard to make.
The sketch for this card is from The Sweet Stop.

Supplies: Stampin Up stamp; silver peel off greeting; pink gems; white gel pen, circular nestabilities; Brenda Walton patterned papers.

Not sure if I like this one or not! Think I chose the wrong colour scheme.

My Mum bought me this pansy stamp and I've slightly decoupaged it and added a little pink gem to the centre.

Supplies: Brenda Walton papers; stamp from the Rubber Stamp Co in Belfast, gold peel off greeting and gold peel off lines for borders.

This sketch is from Sunday Sketch & Stamp

Supplies: Stamp from Stampin Up and again papers from Brenda Walton; purple ribbon with gold edges from my stash; pink dew drops; watercolour pencils; rectangular nestabilities; gold peel off greeting
