A slight hiccup!

Now I know I was supposed to be painting our living room today, but we had a slight hiccup when this happened .....
Yes, that used to be our bedroom ceiling!
Turns out that one of the roof tiles had moved and all our 'summer weather' had been coming through, soaking the extra thick insulation that we put in a year or two ago, until the ceiling just popped!  So fingers crossed that our insurance company will cough up ... their builder was supposed to ring us this afternoon, but of course its now gone 9pm and we're still waiting.  Grrr, makes me mad why {most} tradesmen think the normal laws of customer service don't actually apply to them!

So after that excitement I didn't feel much like getting the paintbrushes out, and had a wee crafty half hour instead ... don't know why but I ended up making a New Home card!  Though I'm not sure how watertight the roof is on the tall skinny house if there's flowers growing out the top Hahaha!

This is one of High Hopes older stamps - coloured with a mixture of promarkers and copics and some stickles added to the pink bits.  DP is also oldie stuff from Papermania.

BTW, you should check out Charmed Cards and Crafts for an amazing candy!

Dodgy Foundations?

When I showed Greg this card he said, "Is it supposed to look wonky like that? ... looks like that house has a bit of subsidence!  Hahahaha!"
Anvil DropIsn't he hilarious ... not!
<- <-  ...what Greg needs ...hee heee!

  • Wee Memories #44 - who's your inspiration .... well I get loads of inspiration from the Featured Stamper challenge over at Splitcoaststampers.  Here's the original I cased this card from - Mary Rose was the Featured Stamper a few weeks ago, but I didn't get a chance to play along then

Simon Says ... New Beginnings

(Click HERE for my Sweet Stampin GDT post - try something new)
Oh, can you believe its Sunday evening already!  Apologies for the usual Sunday blogger overload, but its just a quickie post as Larkrise to Candleford is on telly (a period drama type thing that's just perfect Sunday evening viewing!)
I seem to be stuck in a High Hopes mood, but I hate having new stamps that haven't been inked.  And I fell foul again to my habit of finding lovely DP and then covering it all up!
Oh well, I love how it turned out!
Coloured with copics and a few of the elements popped up on dimensionals. I managed to use one of my little wooden ladybugs and my little arrow punch too.

Birdie's new Home

ETA: I won the S2G Twisted Thursday with this card (2 free digis)

I've been trying to use up some of my old stash - can't remember who made this pretty dotty paper (...might be Papermania?)  Coloured my little birdie image with watercolours and added a little key charm with a sticky dot.  My stitching went a tad wonky so I just stitched another wonky line to match so that it looks 'intentional' (rather than just letting my sewing machine get away from me!)

Sketch from Sunday Sketch and Stamp #27

Shirleys 2 Girls Twisted Thursday challenge #56 is to make a Home Sweet Home card and add some ribbon.

Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge #83: Metal

Home Sweet Home

Oops, I've been shopping again!  I recently came across Shirley's2Girls images and they've a big sale on their stamps....who could resist (not me!)
Coloured these with copic markers and doodled round the edge of the main white panel so I could cut it to match the stamped image.

A bargain!

Do you like my new stamp - it was a total bargain from Stamp Galaxy at just 50p! Its a 'second' but I really can't see very much wrong with it! If you fancy your chances have a look in the Toodles & Binks Adoption Centre of their website.

Coloured with copic markers and little house charm from BunnyZoe's Crafts added. Circles folder from Ellison embossed using my Cuttlebug and silver peel off letters used to spell greeting.

Sketch from The Cuttlebug Spot #43

Colour theme from The Pink Elephant #27 - turqouise, brown and neutral

A fancy new home

I needed a new home card and had this idea that if a snail was 'moving home' it would probably pick something a bit fancier than their usual boring shell. Not sure if this idea translates into my card or not! Added loads of green and blue stickles for some bling.

Supplies/: really old stamp from Inkadinkado (I think) and sentiment from http://www.onefourzero.co.uk/. Coloured with copic markers.

Sketch from Midnight Madness - by the way they have some blog candy of a big shot, a bag and some textured folders, get yourself over for a look to see how you can win! (Ends 14 Aug)

New kennel?

I was asked to make another New Home card by a friend in work. The DT cards over on Sunday Sketch and Stamp #2 reminded me that I had this dog kennel stamp (sorry can't remember who made it, but it was a cheapie foam mounted set).

Coloured with watercolour pencils and popped main image up on dimensionals. Doodled borders with white gel pen and added silver peel off lettering.
Paper from Rubber Soul
