Golden Wedding Anniversary

This is a Golden Wedding Anniversary card for my Aunt and Uncle.  Didn't turn out quite as I expected - I like it though I'm not sure if its a bit too 'girlie'!  I always find it tough to make 'weddingy' type cards, and this took aaaaaages to make!

Whimsey die cut butterfly and gold peel off sentiment, numbers and borders from stash.

Happy Anniversary

Right, that's it, I'm officially fed up with our weather! Our garden had been blooming lovely after a wee bit of sunshine a week or two ago, and then a couple of nights ago we'd an awful wind and it destroyed our delphinium which was about to produce its best blooms ever, and whacked down our lovely lupin.  And it's done nothing but rain for days now.  I'm putting in an order for some decent weather, might even get my sandals on. (well, maybe under my wellies - Ha!)

Engagement Congrats

I've been admiring everyone's 'white' cards for ages but haven't been brave enough to try one until today, and I LOVE how it turned out, I'm definitely going to be trying more of these.
This one uses one of the first stamps I ever bought (and of course is rarely used!) - I think it's an old Stampin Up one.  Just stamped it in black ink and added some wee scratch marks to match the hand drawn border on the base.  Clear gloss and glitter added to the rings and diamonds onto the beautiful Memory Box die.  The white ribbon with a silver edge has been unloved in my stash for quite a few years.

Oh and in case I go MIA, its because I took a notion recently for some cross stitching!  I haven't done any since I started card making, but I saw this harbour town one and had to have it!  (We should take guesses on how long it's gonna take me to finish it ... I reckon maybe Christmas!!)

Love SPARKS

I'm so pleased I ordered this wee Paper Smooches monster, I'd been eyeing him up for aaaages.  I've teamed him here with a balloon stamp from a really old Stampin Up set.
Coloured with promarkers and popped up on dimensionals.

Greg's Valentine's card

Hooray, my new Paper Smooches stamps arrived today!
BOOOO to the Post Office who nabbed my parcel and charged me an extra £8 to get it back for customs duties!  I'm near enough positive that the limit used to be £18 but its now £15 ... and I know I was a couple of quid over the £18 mark anyway, but £8 to pay Customs seems a bit steep to me!  Grrr!
Ah well, at least they arrived in time to make a wee Valentine's card for Greg.  Pity I couldn't get a decent pic though!

Dream Valley Challenge #25

Challenge time again at Dream Valley Challenges, and this time our theme is
Valentine!
We want to see your lovey dovey creations - doesn't have to be a card, make anything you like (max 3 entries)  There's a fab prize up for grabs from Joanna Sheen.  (You've a fortnight to play along)

My card uses this fab wee bunny from The Cats Pyjamas, I must confess I bought it because of the sentiment LOL!  I popped his little wings up at the top and added clear gloss and loads of glitter.  I've also discovered how much I love silicone glue, far quicker and handier than dimensional pads, though the nozzle on my glue is already clogged up and solidified!

Other challenges ... (love is definitely in the air in blogland!)

Love Bunny

Heee I LOVE this little TCP Valentine Bunny!  And the wicked sentiment really appealed to me too!  I ordered this so I could make Greg a non-soppy / funny Valentine ... don't think this one's for him, but we'll see!
Popped my bunny up on dimensionals and gave him super-glittery wings and a shiny nose.  Marianne Design DP.

Non-traditional Valentine

Sorry, couldn't get a decent pic of this card ... it looks much better IRL!  I've added loads of sparkle to the die cut stars and to the dino's markings, toenails and horns.  Also a wee bit of hand stitching as Santa was a bad man and didn't bring me a new sewing machine, ah well, maybe next year!

I've been psyching myself up to make some cards for Valentine's Day ... and you know that I don't do lovey-dovey!  Ha.
I thought this wee dino would be good for a non-traditional Valentine, but I think it might have been better with some hearts instead of die cut stars.  Maybe it looks more like a well done card??

Pucker up!

Just a quickie post tonight.  Wish I could say the same about this card ... can you believe it took 2 nights to make!  Think my mojo's playing hide and seek!

This was inspired by the photo inspiration over at Paper Smooches SPARKS challenge.  I used it for my colour theme, red, white and a touch of green.  I also versamarked my BG with the lips stamp from their A Little Lovin set, but couldn't get it to show up in my pic.
I had a delve into my stash box and used these little clear/silver seed beads to add some texture to the bunting and also found some tiny silver hearts too!

CAS Wedding

I had a go at making a CAS Wedding card today ... I find it difficult to make lovey dovey cards so this seemed to be the best way to go!
I'd bought this wee Art Gone Wild birdie stamp aaaages ago and think they look so sweet!  I liked this embossing folder as the flowers were kinda the same shape as the flower in her hair (...hair? Haha!!!)  Added some clear gloss to their beaks and some silver gems.

Dum dum de dum

I hate leaving cards to the last minute, and I've known about this wedding for a year, so I've no excuses for faffing about ... and of course tonight is my last chance to get this card made!  We're off to my best friend's daughters wedding on Saturday, so if I remember I'll get someone to take a pic of me and Greg in our finery!

This wee card took aaaaages to make.  First I couldn't decide on what sketch to use, then trying to find some papers was another challenge as I don't really have any nice 'weddingy' stuff... can you tell that lovey-dovey isn't my thing!  Even the flowers took ages to get sorted, I envy you lot who can do a full flower arrangement on your cards (...though then I would have had to make a presentation box and I would have been up all night!)

Coloured with a mixture of copics and promarkers; loads of wee mini bling added to her dress and stickles to the flowers.  Echo Park DP.  Lili of the Valley stamp.

I love Roo!

I do love little Roo from Winnie the Pooh, but if I'm honest Tigger is my favourite!
I thought I'd give my High Hopes stamps a break and out came my Paper Smooches ones instead ... you'd think I haven't got any other stamps than these but for some reason these two brands just really speak to me.

  • I took my colour combo from the Paper Smooches Sparks challenge which was to use this pic as the inspiration:

An Anniversary Card and the dangers of drinking tea!

I hate making special commission cards, but this is one for a friend in work, and it had to be a biggie as she's from a largeish family and it had to have enough room for them all to sign.

I had a bit of a disaster when I was making this card, when I managed to drop my gorgeous baker's twine into my tea instead of my ribbon bag!  I hadn't even noticed until I went to take a swig of tea and got hit up the face with my soggy twine!

I don't really have many suitable stamps for an Anniversary card, so it was back to my old faithful Lili of the Valley stamp.  Popped him up on dimensionals, and then another layer for the central flower, his hand, and the arm holding the envelope.  And I didn't have any lovey-dovey themed DPs so went with this stuff from Echo Park.  Added loads of silver bling (though I suppose they should have been rubies!) and silver peel offs for the sentiment and lettering.  Coloured with promarkers and black enamel added to the little bear's nose.

A love-ly monkey!

Whoo hoo I'm back!  I changed my broadband supplier so was totally off-line there for a few days, but hopefully that's me sorted now.
I'm still on a High Hopes roll, how cute is this little monkey!  Coloured him with Promarkers, and then popped his body up on dimensionals and then his mouth again.  Added clear gloss to his eyes and stickles to the little heart.

Anniversary Mice

Ohh its been a lovely warm day today, the sun even peeked out this afternoon ... gasp!  must be summer!  So in honour of our 'summer' I thought I'd use my pretty
sunflower stamps from High Hopes.  I was late getting my sunflowers planted this year, so they haven't even peeked through the surface yet.  Instead, here's a wee pic of my lovely Delphinium which was covered in busy bees this morning ....

Card Details: High Hopes stamps, sentiment from Elzybells.  Images coloured with promarkers.  Yellow sunflowers all popped up on dimensionals.  Pretty papers from Echo Park.  Added some yellow gems and clear gloss/glitter to her bow and little heart.
(By the way, if you fancy your chances at some Christmas candy check out Claudia's blog, and Katharina has some lovely Whiff of Joy summer stamps in her giveaway too!)

A Pink Wedding and a boy in a dog house!

Ohhh its been a blustery few days here, the wind would blow you away!  I actually thought I wasn't going to make it into work yesterday as I turned a corner and the wind had me trapped ... I physically couldn't move, partly with the wind holding me down and partly with laughing so much!  Bet anyone looking at me thought I was some mad eejit!

And speaking of mad eejits, we were playing hide and seek in my Aunt's garden on Sunday and I just had to share this pic for best hiding place of the day!  First prize for inventive hiding goes to my nephew Ryan ....

(.... though the feet sticking out the door is a bit of a giveaway Hee Hee!)
Anyway, I was determined to get some of this ribbon used, its been in my stash for ages, no idea where I ever got it from!  Coloured my LOTV image with a mixture of promarkers and copic markers and added some Smooch Illuminate to the little accents on her dress, but it doesn't really show up very well in the pic.  Martha Stewart butterflies and clear crystal bling to finish.  Sentiment is an oldie from Elzybells.

Under The Sea ...

Right, now that you're all singing Under the Sea from The Little Mermaid !!! ....
This is my Anniversary card for my brother and sister-in-law (I've already warned her I'm posting this on my blog, so YOU BETTER NOT BE PEEKING Andrea!)

It's my first play with the card boxes that Claire very kindly sent me (thanks Claire!)
I thought it was a good shape to have some hanging images, so as my DB and SIL are big fish fans, out came my oldie Stampin Up Fishy Friends set.  Coloured with promarkers and highlighted with some orange stickles.  The big orange button has been in my stash for a couple of years, but never looked quite right on anything (until now!)

Love TV!

Ohhh its been a beautiful sunny calm day ... much better than last night when it was blowing a gale and lashing rain!  I think the sun gave me a bit of oomph round the house today ... I was like a Whirling Dervish and if it wasn't nailed down it got cleaned or tidied!  And I even squeezed in a bit of crafty time too!  I won this fab Unity stamp ages ago and its the first time I've used it - coloured with promarkers and the bottom TV popped up on dimensionals.  The little heart stamped in the BG is from an old Stampin Up set, but no idea which one!

The Crafty Pad: #108 - Hearts
Stamp and Create February challenge - Love
Sketch inspired by Midnight Madness MMSC91 (though I tilted the central panel)
Colour Create #64 - chocolate, strawberry and cream
Cupcake Craft #129 - I ♥ You

Simon Says... I Woof You!

I know this time last week I was raving about spring just being around the corner, but there was definately no sign of it today!  Its been horrible dark and drizzly all day, we've had the lights on since lunchtime!  So this wee card had no mission of getting photographed in daylight ... the DP is more purply than it looks here and the doggy is greyer.  The doggy and sentiment are ones I printed out ages ago from Sweet'n Sassy, and my little bit of doggy print paper has been knocking about my scraps box for yonks.

Hoppy Valentine!

This is gonna be Greg's Valentine card .... I don't do 'mushy' so this cute little Meljen's Design digi froggy was perfect!
Coloured with copics and stickles added to red hearts.  The big heart is popped up a bit ... the bit closest to the froggy is stuck down and then the far side popped up on dimensionals.
