Xmas card #21

Just a quickie post ... it's movie night in our house and tonight its The Hunger Games.  I haven't read the books, but I believe they're fab, so we'll see what the movie's like!
Oh and yes, our car passed its MOT Yippee ... so that's my crafty pennies safe then instead of having to spend them on car repairs Hee!

I was going for a polaroid effect photo of Ruby here, don't know if it works or not!
Wee bit of colouring with copics, clear gloss on her nose, a paper pieced ruby crown and pressie and some flower soft snow.  Marianne die cut tree and Paper Smooches sentiment

Butterflies and Roses

I bought some of this fancy rose ribbon ages ago and it's sat in my 'too pretty to use' stack!  So I forced myself to use it, along with one of my favourite Lily of the Valley stamps and this gorgeous DP.  I ran out of room for a sentiment, but don't really think it needs one anyway.

Coloured with copics.  Paper pieced small butterfly and die cut large one to match (Whimsy die)

Free choice of sketch from CPS - I used CPS114

Get Well Bunny

CAS-ual Friday challenge this week is to make a card based on your blog header.  Well mine is purple and CAS ... so here you go!

Mum's Retirement Card

My Mum retires this week after 30-odd years working for the same firm ... not too many people can claim that!  So this wee card's for her.

I paper pieced my flags and glossed up her watering can and trowel and added some sparkle to the dots on her dress.  I also got out my much neglected Memory Box die that I bought back at the start of the year and have used maybe twice. Bad me.
Sentiment from Lili of the Valley.  Whimsy butterfly die.

Get Well Girlie

I got this Marianne heart die aaaages ago and think I've maybe used it once.  Bad me.  I'm determined to use more of my stash as I think I have plenty of it!  (I know, you can never have enough though!)

Image coloured with mixture of copics and promarkers, paper pieced butterfly and flower.
Marianne Design heart die.
Whimsy butterfly die - it comes with a fancy tail, but I just cut it off.

Summer cycle

Thought I'd get my wee cycling dude out as he hasn't seen ink for quite a while.  I faffed around for aaages trying to give him a Tour de France yellow jumper before I gave up!  I should have tried some Bradley Williams sideburns too!
Coloured with a mixture of copics and promarkers, though I'm not entirely happy with my mud-brown dog!  Lots of glitter added to bike.

Puppy & Kitten

Does anyone else run out of post titles when you've used a stamp quite often?  I'd love to be able to think of something sweet or witty, but my brain has gone to sleep!
Anyhoo, Happy 4th to all my USA bloggy buddies, hope you're having a fun day!

This card looks 'busier' than it actually is, think its all that jazzy DP!  The scallops at the bottom of the sentiment panel were part of the fancy DP, so I just cut round them.

Happy Anniversary

Right, that's it, I'm officially fed up with our weather! Our garden had been blooming lovely after a wee bit of sunshine a week or two ago, and then a couple of nights ago we'd an awful wind and it destroyed our delphinium which was about to produce its best blooms ever, and whacked down our lovely lupin.  And it's done nothing but rain for days now.  I'm putting in an order for some decent weather, might even get my sandals on. (well, maybe under my wellies - Ha!)

Aunt Jean's birthday card

This is my much unloved DP that I'm gradually using up ... though I must admit I'm liking it more than I had been!  Even better now I've discovered that coral and sunkissed pink promarkers match this odd shade of peachy/pink perfectly.
Added some clear gloss to the wee table and chairs and also to the tea set.  A few gems and my new ivy tendrils die, and Bob's your uncle!

We are sailing....

This wee boy's boat would have been perfect for the river that was our road yesterday after all that torrential rain!  But at least the sky is finally starting to clear - all we need now is to get a bit of sunshine!  It doesn't feel right that we still have our jumpers and the heating on and it's almost the middle of June.

Gorgeous DPs from Bo Bunny.  LOTV image coloured with mixture of promarkers and pencils - clear gloss added to the hull of the boat and to his shoes, and some sparkle to the wee flag at the top.

Cuddle a kitten!

We've had a lovely sunny day today ... the weather was just perfect for the family fun day I was at down at Stormont.  Next time you see someone collecting donations with a charity bucket on their arm, feel some sympathy for them - those buckets are HEAVY, especially as people are so generous!

This is another of my favourite LOTV images, paired with some of my least favorite DPs!  It was ever so pretty in the pack, but I find it almost impossible to use!  Image coloured with a mix of pencils and copics, with some orange stickles added for a bit of bling.  Silver peel off birthday sentiment.

Pretty in Purple

Brrr, dull and chilly here today.  We have the Olympic Torch run doing the rounds of Northern Ireland over the next couple of days so hopefully we won't get the pouring rain they had in London for the Queen's flotilla down the Thames!  The torch comes through my town on Thursday, but we've a 'Do' in work and I can't get the time off! :(

Penny Black at Allsorts June challenge is to show your favorites, so I had a fun time making this card. I think this wee LOTV stamp is possibly one of my favorites.  My ribbon is definitely treasured, so much so that I hardly use it .. now where's the sense in that!

Coloured with a mixture of copics, promarkers and pencils.  Paper pieced her wee t-shirt and butterfly.  I recently re-discovered my liquid pearls (and went a bit crazy!) and added some purple stickles to my diamonds.  Sentiment also from Lili of the Valley. Notebook edge die and scalloped edge from Die-namics.

PS for Pat: Sorry, I can't figure out how I leave you a message on your new blog!

Time for Tea

No, don't fall off your chair, those are pretty flowers on my card!  I think that pink rose has been in my stash for about 4 years!  Nicola very kindly sent me a wee parcel which included this LOTV stamp, gorgeous DP and pretty purple flowers, so I was determined to try and use them!  (I kept my flowers quite small as I didn't want to be bothered making a card box)

I also got my pencils out again for another practice, and I quite like how this turned out.  Its a bit brighter in real life, but I couldn't get my camera to co-operate!

Sarah's Birthday card

I think this is one of my favourite LOTV images - just wish I would sit down and practice colouring her hair, instead of just ploughing on ... it's ended up much darker than I'd intended!
Coloured with promarkers and central image popped up on dimensionals.  I had a run in with an ink pad, which left me with a few splodges on my card ... but hurrah for Martha Stewart butterflies to save the day!  Sentiment / letters from Paper Smooches.  Gorgeous sparkly number stickers were a pressie from my Mum.

Hope you've had a good Easter.  My Easter egg is calling to me from the kitchen ... shhh, don't tell Slimming World! :-)

Emily's Birthday Card

Oh dear, what happened to our summer? This time last week half the country was tooting round in shorts and t-shirts, but now it's back to boots and cosy jumpers and frost at night!  I  nearly planted out my peas, but I think I'll hold off for another week .... I'm off work all of Easter week and my 'to do' list is growing by the minute!

I've discovered that I'm 'flower-challenged' as well as being 'button-challenged'!  I'll not confess how long I faffed about with it!  I also managed to use some flourishes, which was another half hour faffing about too!
I ran out of room to get Emily's age on the card, and then I remembered seeing this corner idea in blogland somewhere - just a wee nestie circle squared off at the corner - of course I can't remember where I saw it, so if it was you ... thanks!

Coloured with copics and some stickles added to her hairband, pressie, and skirt.

Erin's birthday card

OMGosh, where did the week go?! I can't believe it's almost Friday again already!  I just wish the weekend wouldn't go as fast... but at least it's St Patrick's Day this weekend so we get an extra day off on Monday, hurrah!

I've a wee order in for some children's cards, so this is the first one.  The central panel is popped up on dimensionals, as is the birthday greeting, and I paper pieced my flower and butterfly.  Coloured with promarkers and loads of diamonds added, real ones of course dharlink!

    Good Luck!

Ohhh we've had a beautiful sunny spring day today, spoiled only by having to go to work! Ha.  But its lovely to see all the spring flowers and daffodils in the gardens, and all the wee baby lambs are starting to appear in the fields too.

I made this yesterday and forgot to upload it, so here you go!

    Pretty in Pink

Just a quickie post tonight ... me and my mojo are half asleep!
Don't think I'd fancy paying me by the hour to make cards .. this one took 2 nights to make!  Flowers were on and off again, swirls were cut and discarded, butterflies were punched and chucked, and in the end I went totally CAS!  Even the sentiment is a 3rd attempt LOL!

    My favourite LOTV Stamp

Oops, I had my wonky eyes in when I took this pic!
Well I'm finally starting to feel a bit better ... thanks everyone for your get well wishes!
This wee card features my favourite Lili of the Valley stamp, coloured with pencils which I was inspired to get by my bloggy buddy Linda ... if you've never been at her blog you should pop over for a wee visit, she has the most fabulous colouring skills with her pencils! I've quite a bit of practice to go, especially with hair colouring!

I also managed to add a button to my card which is quite an achievement for a button-challenged-crafter! .

ETA: I won at Pixie Cottage - 2 new stamps!
