Sympathy Daisies

Another lovely day today, still a wee bit nippy, but I took a chance and finally got my pea seedlings planted.  Just hope our hungry slugs don't have a good munch!

I usually have a really tough time making sympathy cards but this one came together really easily for some reason!  This is a super old stamp and I don't know who the maker is.  (Actually, now I think of it, it might be from Cornish Heritage Farms) Coloured with copics to match my DP, most of which I managed to cover up!  Gold peel off sentiment.

CPS Anniversary Day 3

Hooray, I'm off work the rest of the week!  We had a lovely day faffing about and tootling round the shops, and I managed to get caught up on my CPS challenges (yes I know, I'm behind already, def don't think I'll make it to challenge 15 in time!)

This card uses a High Hopes image - coloured with pencils - and Paper Smooches Sentiment.

Frog in Boxers

Just a quickie post tonight ... discovered that we do actually have MTV (shows how much we watch it!) so off to watch the big show from Belfast on the telly.

I can't take any credit for this wee card ... Karen (*1 wacky woman*) is this week's featured stamper at Splitcoaststampers, so I got to case one of her fabulous cards! ... HERE's her original.

Images from High Hopes; Martha Stewart grass punch; copic markers; dimensionals; bakers twine; orange gems

Oh, and before I go, we had a beautiful day at the wedding yesterday and the sunshine was glorious, as was the beautiful bride.  Isn't it nice to see everyone all dolled up too ... here's what happens to me and Greg with a bit of soap and water LOL!

Harley Snoopy!

Well it's an exciting weekend ahead ... MTV are in town and I think the whole of Northern Ireland is in a bit of a tizz!  One of my workmates managed to get a ticket to the awards and she's soooo excited!  Lucky duck! It looks like being a sunny and bright weekend too ... so all our international visitors will have a great {false} impression of our weather HaHa!   Unfortunately we don't have MTV on our Sky package so we're not even going to see the fun!

Coloured my cool Snoopy with copics; sentiment from Practising Creativity; DP from Basic Grey 'Oliver'; star dies from Taylored Expressions; clear gems

Have a mice day!

Thought I'd share a pic of the sky on my card against our real sky!  It's been a very warm and humid day today, most definately a fuzzy hair day  ... I'm always very envious of people with lovely hair, the slightest hint of moisture or wind and my hair develops a mind of its own!!
I've a couple of days off work, so have been busy sorting out the garden and we're off to see Harry Potter tomorrow in our swanky new cinema - apparently its the biggest, most modern screen in Ireland, so we can't wait!

Coloured my sky using chalks and my image with promarkers.  Popped my High Hopes mouse and balloon up on dimensionals and added clear gloss to the balloon.  My sewing machine has given up stitching, so used it instead to mark the holes and then hand stitched with embroidery thread.

Frogtastic!

Isn't this such a cute image and sentiment, but seriously, if I found frogs in my underpants you'd hear me scream right the way across the Atlantic!!
Coloured with a mixture of copics and promarkers, clear gloss added to his eyes and the pegs, and Smooch Illuminate added to the dots on his underpants.  Taylored Expressions scalloped border die (which I love!).

Gettin Sticky!

Wee Memories challenge this week is to use up your stickers or rub ons, so I had a root through my stash and found these pretty rub on flowers and sentiment (from PaperMania)  I thought my BG looked a bit boring, so I die cut a couple of swirls and punched a wee border along the bottom edge.  Coloured some card candy to match.

Etsy Inspired Snail

(Click HERE for my Sweet Stampin GDT post)

This wee card was inspired by the Etsy Inspired challenge this week ... look at these cute minatures!  I find crochet tough enough without doing it on that scale!
This little snail is another oldie from my stash, but I think I might change his 'face' into a smile, he looks a bit sad!  I hadn't intended to have a seagull in the middle of my cloud, but I smudged some ink on it that then needed disguised!  Added clear gloss to his popped up shell and to the balloon.

Popped balloons!

This is an oldie stamp I got aaaaaages ago from I Brake for Stamps .... I cut out an extra red balloon and popped it up on dimensionals.  Coloured with copics and the white strip on the red balloon has Smooch Illuminate on it for a bit of sparkle.

You've passed

So here's a quick and easy card from me tonight.  I think this little car stamp was one of the first sets I ever bought and it gets rediscovered now and then!  Coloured them with copic markers, cut them out and popped them up on dimensionals.  There's a bit of background stamping and some clear gloss on the hubs and windows, but they don't really show up in the pic.

Peggy's 80th Birthday Card

I love this cake stamp ... its perfect for those big birthday's and especially when you don't really know the person or what they like.  coloured with copic markers, clear gloss added to the icing and the cupcake wrapper is popped up on dimensionals.  I got a bit carried away with my green stickles and dotted them through the name and round all the green edges.  Blingtastic!
BTW the 80 and the Happy Birthday are silver peeloffs but it was dark when I took this pic and didn't photograph well.

Bad news and Good news!

So the bad news is that the snow is back with a vengance .... the good news is that I couldn't get to work today!  I'm so glad that I don't have to take my feet out of my cosy slippers!  This is Greg out in our back garden pretending he's 6 years old again and making snowballs!

Work has been an absolute drag recently (we're restructuring and there's going to be some redundancies) so it was good to find my mojo after a week of doing no crafting.  This little duckie was a win on Toodles and Binks Christmas giveaway ... its still ongoing, so click HERE to go and try to win your own choice of T&B stamp!

Image coloured with copic markers and kraft BG stamped with versamark using a script stamp.  Clear gloss added to the duck's beak and legs

Crafty Cardmakers challenge this week is to share your first card along with your latest.  I don't seem to have a copy on pc of my first card which was my Sister's wedding cards, but this is the earliest one listed on my Splitcoaststampers collection from Feb 2008:

Just remembered I had some saved on the DoCrafts site ... this one's from July 2006! ... terrible photo, but I remember thinking it was beautiful at the time!

Birthday Birdies

ShiverRight... that's it ... I've had enough of this snow and cold lark!  I think we need to put a wee tow rope round Ireland and just give it a wee tug south to warm us up a bit!  (it was minus 11 on the way home tonight which is unheard of at that time of evening!)
And we only usually get a couple of days of snow so we're well fed up with it by now!   Though I suppose I should be grateful the roads were driveable today as I was almost stranded in Belfast last night when there was a heavy fall of snow and the roads were impassible - they cancelled my bus but luckily enough I was able to catch what turned out to be the last train home!
And I'm blaming the cold for my lost mojo!  Took me ages to make this simple wee card, I wish I'd mounted it on red c/s before I stuck it to the white base.  Oh well ...!

ETA: I've just had a wee look over my recent posts and all I've done for ages is go on about the cold weather!  So I promise, no more moaning!!  (Mind you, now I think of it we moan here when its 'too hot' too!!)

Sick Doggy

Ohhhh its another bitterly cold day, no sign of this snow shifting yet!  We don't 'do' snow in Northern Ireland, give me a good rainy day any time!  Though at least its not a patch on what they're getting over the pond in England and Scotland.
I've been making some doggy themed cards for a Chrissy pressie for a friend who runs a dog visiting charity (where dogs visit hospitals and residential homes) so thought I'd share one of them.  This one uses a Heltz cuppleditch stamp (at least I think that's how you spell it, too lazy to get off the sofa and go and check!)

Xmas card #47

I bought this little puppy last year in the January sales, isn't he a cutie!  Added loads of stickles to the dog's scarf and to the big snowflake, and used clear gloss topped with stickles for the ice.
