Xmas card #01!

Taaa Daaa!  This year's first Christmas card .... this time last year I had quite a few made, but it ended up being a tedious year long project, and the ones made at the end of the year were so much better than those made at the start!  So this year I'm just going to wing it, make a few fancy cards and make all my own cards nice and simple ... well, that's the theory anyway!

This one uses one of last year's High Hopes snowmen - coloured with promarkers, popped up his jumper, hat and scarf on dimensionals; clear gloss added to his skate blades, loads of stickles to his jumper and the falling snow, and white flowersoft for the snow on the ground.  Also coloured some wee gems for the small snowflake to match the bigger sparkly one.
Right, that's me ... I'm pooped this evening!  I think I must have broken the email-sending world record today and at the last tally I'd sent over 140 individual emails, so I'm nearly cross-eyed now!  Think I'll just have to close them for 40 winks!

To Ruby-dooby-doo!

ETA: I won at Crafty Cardmakers!
If I had to pick one of these wee images that would capture the essence of Ruby, it would have to be the middle-top ... she's such a sleepy dog, and in fact is snoozing on the sofa tucked in behind my legs as I type!

I had originally coloured my green with promarkers but thought it needed something so I went over it with Twinkling H2O paint that hasn't seen the light of day for such a long time, and it definately zinged it up a bit!  Popped all my wee Ruby's up on dimensionals and stamped the sentiment (from Simon Says Stamp) straight onto the cardstock - I always find that really scary as I'm always waiting for my hand to wobble and wreck the entire card!  Added some black enamel to her nose(s) and a few wee mini gems from my stash.

Jam Jar Flowers

Well, as predicted, the Bank Holiday weather was decidedly average!  We took ourselves off to the garden centre earlier and it lashed out of the heavens, couldn't even get out to look at the plants!  So we came home and I made some cards in between tackling the mountain that had become my ironing stack!

This is another oldie image from Cornish Heritage Farm - coloured with promarkers and clear glaze added to the jam jar.  Central pink flower popped up on dimensionals.  Pearls coloured with promarkers to match.

Le Bow Wow

Oh its been a lovely day today, a nice 'warmish' wind, so got loads of washing done and dried on the line and got the garden sorted and at long last I got my sweet pea planted.  And just for Mel (my DT buddy who has the most fabulous allotment and greenhouse) here's a pic of my wee garden ... I've just discovered the panorama button on my camera and am amazed how it joins the pics together with no lines! ....
And (don't laugh Mel) here's my spuds at the bottom of the garden.... (all five of them!) and our wee gooseberry bush.  There's another couple of potatoes growing in the mini-grow bags, but I forgot to take a pic.

We're having a go at growing tomatoes in a pot ... we did have a wee mini greenhouse this past couple of years, but it had to go in the bin this year, so we're hoping for the sunny summer we've been promised.  Also in the pic are 3 very sad looking lettuces (think they're gasping for a drink!)  Good job Tesco's isn't too far away!!  Ah well, sure it's a bit of craic!

Anyway, on to my card details.  I'd been looking for some doggy print ribbon in my disorganised stash and came across this lovely stuff that I bought aaaages ago and helped to inspire my colour combo.  I LOVE that shade of blue and my cardigan I'm wearing is that exact shade!
Coloured my wee French doggy with promarkers and popped up a couple of his layers.

Dream Valley Challenge #08

Its challenge time again over at Dream Valley ... and this week it couldn't be easier!

Charisma #21 - Boy oh Boy
Top Tip Tuesday #35 - use at least 2 stamps
My time to Craft #142 - use a die cut

Think Pink!

Aaargh, I wish I hadn't titled my post Think Pink .... I've got the lyrics to the Pink Panther, the rinky-dink panther, going round in my head now!

We've a lovely long weekend again with a Bank Holiday on Monday, though the weather is really pants at the minute ... I'm not long back from a walk with Ruby and had to put my cozy coat on, zipped up to the neck and I was still foundered!

This lovely girl is a digi from Crafts and Me called Ladybug Love that I've never got round to inking up before.  I quite like how her hair turned out, but I got a bit lost with the right hand side of it and wasn't sure where to put the 'shine'.
Coloured with promarkers and some Smooch Illuminate added to her wings and lipstick. Sentiment from Simon Says Stamp.  Card candy in centre of flowers coloured with promarker.  Little green pearls from stash.
(Oh, don't forget to pop back here tomorrow if you get a chance to see the new challenge from Dream Valley)

A Pink Wedding and a boy in a dog house!

Ohhh its been a blustery few days here, the wind would blow you away!  I actually thought I wasn't going to make it into work yesterday as I turned a corner and the wind had me trapped ... I physically couldn't move, partly with the wind holding me down and partly with laughing so much!  Bet anyone looking at me thought I was some mad eejit!

And speaking of mad eejits, we were playing hide and seek in my Aunt's garden on Sunday and I just had to share this pic for best hiding place of the day!  First prize for inventive hiding goes to my nephew Ryan ....

(.... though the feet sticking out the door is a bit of a giveaway Hee Hee!)
Anyway, I was determined to get some of this ribbon used, its been in my stash for ages, no idea where I ever got it from!  Coloured my LOTV image with a mixture of promarkers and copic markers and added some Smooch Illuminate to the little accents on her dress, but it doesn't really show up very well in the pic.  Martha Stewart butterflies and clear crystal bling to finish.  Sentiment is an oldie from Elzybells.

Wish I was there!

ETA: I got Top 5 at Crafty Cardmakers
It's been a really yeuchy day here ... started raining this morning and barely stopped all day.  So I was pleased to see that there's a few summery challenges out there in blogland, cause it certainly is NOT summer here IRL!

Coloured this wee image from Your Next Stamp with promarkers, popped it up on dimensionals and then popped Ellie up again.  I don't think you usually get dragonflies at the beach, but I had a big empty space that needed something !
Added orange stickles to the little starfish, smooch illuminate to the bottle, clear gloss to the sunglasses, Tim Holtz embossing folder, dragonfly buttons, clear gem to the flower on her hat.

My new stamp .... starring Ruby!

ETA: I got Top 3 at Little Claire's blog with this card
I was shopping the other day on Little Claire's site for some promarkers, when I came across this cuuuute wee stamp and just had to drop it in my shopping basket!  Popped my central panel up on dimensionals and the little Ruby in the bottom corner is popped up too.  Added clear gloss to the dog bowl, stickles and little red gems to her dog collar, and black enamel to her nose(s!) for some added shine.

Mooo-chas Grass-ias

(ETA: I won Etsy Inspired challenge with this little cow!)
Oops, almost forgot to upload this one!  Couldn't get a good photo of it though, its been horrible dark and damp here for days now!

This card was inspired by the Splitcoaststampers Featured Stamper Aimes - HERE is her original.
I combined it with the Etsy Inspired challenge #138 and their cute little felt cow!  My wee Friesian cow is an oldie stamp from VapScrap (I think), sentiment unknown and dots from Practising Creativity.  Clear gloss added to little cow.  Central panel popped up on dimensionals.
Also for: Lexi's creations #40 - spots and/or stripes

Lucky Ducky

Ohhh wouldn't you love to be sitting on a huge stack of pressies like this lucky duck!  I usually pop this Penny Black stamp up in staggered layers, but just kept this one nice and simple.  Coloured with promarkers, some stickles, clear gloss and smooch illuminate, couple of punched flowers and butterflies, and die cut swirls to finish.  Nice and simple and quick!

A turquoise doggy!

I found this DP when I was rooting through my stash ... I printed it off ages ago from http://www.scrapbookscrapbook.com/ and thought it would make a fun BG for a doggy image (this one's from Stampin Up 'Ruff Day')  Coloured with a promarker and smooch illuminate added to his white patches; black enamel added to his nose.

Gettin Sticky!

Wee Memories challenge this week is to use up your stickers or rub ons, so I had a root through my stash and found these pretty rub on flowers and sentiment (from PaperMania)  I thought my BG looked a bit boring, so I die cut a couple of swirls and punched a wee border along the bottom edge.  Coloured some card candy to match.

A pretty little miss

I won this little C.C. Designs cutie a few weeks ago when All that Scraps previewed their new stamps... isn't she just adorable!  Coloured with promarkers and then paper pieced her dotty green outfit from a wee scrap of DP lying on my table.   Popped her up on dimensionals, added a few punched butterflies, Tim Holtz border die, a couple of silver peel off border lines and Taa Daa .. done!  And I love it!
Hope you've had a good Sunday ... its been a horrible damp and dreary day here!  (...so plenty of cards made!)

Dream Valley Challenge #07

Time for a new challenge over at Dream Valley .... and this fortnight we want to see your new (and old!) stash!  We're sponsored this week by Digis with Attitude, so play along and you could win some new fun images.  You can make anything you like (card / scrapbook layout / jewellery / etc) and you've 2 weeks to join the challenge.
Upload your Something old and something new creation at Dream Valley Challenges, and check out the fab creations from the DT while you're there for some inspiration.

For my card, my 'new' is one of Digis with Attitude images (Fortune Teller Tween) and my 'old' is some ancient DP and an oddment of ribbon from my stash.  The silver stars were a purchase from my garden centre (think they're supposed to be table confetti) and I've also embossed some stars on the blue BP.

Mmmm chocolate

Just a quickie post as The Apprentice is on, closely followed by Vampire Diaries (I think tonight is the only decent TV night all week!)
This wee card took aaaaaages to make, no idea why!  It's another oldie stamp, can't even remember who the maker is!  Coloured with promarkers, clear gloss added to his glasses and smooch illuminate to his tie and papers.  Couple of wee pink pearls to finish.

Bathtime for baby ...... and me, Greg and Ruby too!

I haven't got any baby cards in my stash, so thought I'd get this cutie out!  I've had this wee scrap of baby paper for about a year now, so thought I'd better use it too before it gets too crumpled and gets dumped!  I managed to slice through my ribbon ends when I was tying on my wee button, and as it was a wee scrap too it had to do!  I had another oopsie when I was paper piercing my top corner and went a bit wonky!  (I'm blaming it on the weather ... see below!)  Added some frosted lace stickles to the bubbles and some wee pink gems to my Martha Stewart punched butterflies.  Stamp from Art Go Wild
How's this for a fabulous cloudy sky?! (I always feel sorry for folk who live in cities or built up areas who can't see the sky properly!)  About 3 seconds after I took this pic there was a huge crack of lightening and an enormous rumble of thunder and then the heavens totally opened!  So me, Greg and Ruby all got an unexpected drenching and the quickest walk home ever!!  (Oh, and YES I was standing under a tree at the time I took this ... EEK!)

Under The Sea ...

Right, now that you're all singing Under the Sea from The Little Mermaid !!! ....
This is my Anniversary card for my brother and sister-in-law (I've already warned her I'm posting this on my blog, so YOU BETTER NOT BE PEEKING Andrea!)

It's my first play with the card boxes that Claire very kindly sent me (thanks Claire!)
I thought it was a good shape to have some hanging images, so as my DB and SIL are big fish fans, out came my oldie Stampin Up Fishy Friends set.  Coloured with promarkers and highlighted with some orange stickles.  The big orange button has been in my stash for a couple of years, but never looked quite right on anything (until now!)

Stampin Bunny

How's this for a CAS card on quite a complicated sketch!  Once I got my head around it, it's quite a good one for using up all your wee scraps.  Image from Lili of the Valley, coloured with a mixture of promarkers and copics.  Martha Stewart butterflies, a couple of gems and that's it basically!

Taaaa Daaaa!

Here's another wee stamp (from High Hopes) I haven't used for ages (I'm on an economy drive and trying to use my oldies more often!)   Coloured with copics / promarkers. though I'm not happy with how his trousers turned out, I'll have to examine the High Hopes blog to see how the professionals colour him!   Smooch illuminate added to his blue dicky bow and accessories and clear gloss to his shoes.  The bunny in the hat and the one leaning on his shoe are popped up on dimensionals.  Added some silver stars to my starry DP and some clear gems to the birthday ticket.
Thought I'd share this pic of the goodies that Audrey (a.k.a. HippieAud) sent me ... I came runner up in one of her recent giveaways and got this fab box of goodies (there were also a couple of embossing folders, but I forgot to include them in this pic)  I think the winner must need a fork lift truck to get their goodies through the door!!!  Thanks Audrey! (She has another giveaway on the go at the minute ... link in my sidebar ----> )

A guilty cat and an even guiltier dog!

I thought I'd get my Shirley's 2 Girls stamps out as they haven't seen ink for a while, but I managed to mess this sketch up a bit and totally forgot about the wee bit of ribbon or whatever sticking out of the image.
Coloured with a mixture of copics / promarkers, the cat is decoupaged and stickles added to his spots and to the feathers.  Martha Stewart fence punch and cuttlebug swiss dots embossing folder.
And the guilty dog who had a ripping good time earlier .....
Good job it was just junk mail!

Funky green!

Wow, there's a lot of green going on here ... got a bit carried away with myself! And just in case there wasn't enough, there's a green tulle ribbon behind my image - AND I had a little end left over so stuck it down the side too!
Coloured image (Kenny K digi) with copics and coloured gems red to match.

Back to work tomorrow after our extra long weekend Boo Hoo!  We had a wee BBQ tonight, but it was a tad windy and I think the burgers were more ash flavoured than BBQ'd!!

Dream Valley Challenge #06

Our new challenge at Dream Valley is Flowers ... and there's a fab prize up for grabs from One Stop Card Crafts!  So play along and you never know your luck!  Check out the gorgeous creations from the rest of the DT when you're uploading your card HERE.

Can you tell the sun was shining and there was a bit of heat in the air when I made this card ... all those lovely hot colours!  I've used a stamp set from Stampendous 'Happy Flowers' and coloured with copics.  A couple of the flowers are popped up on 2mm dimensionals, and the flower centres on 1mm.  I had intended to add some frosted lace stickles to the flower centres, but my tube ran dry, as did my pink marker - I only just managed to scratch enough out of it to colour the flower centres ... I think my crafty supplies are conspiring against me again!!

Other challenges ....
