And they lived ....

I was asked by a friend at work to make a "fancy" wedding card. Well I hate making wedding cards - don't know why! Of course it doesn't help when I never buy any 'weddingy' type stash!
Anyhoo this is what emerged after about 3 long hours!
The image is from Forever Friends - just heat embossed with silver EP. Coloured slightly with my copic markers - his hat does match the paper a bit better than it actually looks in the photo.
Sentiment from High Hopes.
And gorgeous crochet flowers from Linda's blog candy a while back - they're almost too nice to use, but at least most people don't chuck out their wedding cards, so its not like they're being 'wasted'!

An Old Fashioned Christmas...?

This week's challenge over at Winter Wonderland is 'Christmas Past' - I thought my new Magnolia stamp looked like an old-fashioned kind of girl (....well, OK then..... I was just dying to get some ink on it!)

And Charmed Crafts have a fantastic giveaway of 72 Copic markers - just upload an image that you have coloured yourself - see pic on sidebar

Added loads of stickles to her collar etc and to the falling snow outside. Coloured with copic markers, though I think I should have done her gloves a different colour, they just don't look right.

Sentiment from Stampin Up - Loads of Love.

Creative Inspirations #15 is MASKING - I masked up the window and stamped the trees 'outside'

Awww...nuts!

I was given this Penny Black image ages and ages ago and can't think why I didn't use it ... isn't he just the funniest! (..and yes, I think its definately a HE!) Though my colouring on him is a bit rubbish - used my watercolour pencils for the cat and copic markers for the balloon. Added clear gloss to the balloon.

Also for the challenge over on Stamp TV for Potluck Friday STVPF20 - Punchmania. So I used my SU corner rounder to make the scalloped edge.

Sentiment from High Hopes.

Elzybells 1 !

Elzybells Blog Challenge this week is to make a card in the colours of your country's flag. I had my choice of 2 flags so made 2 cards just to keep everyone happy!

The first is in the colours of the Irish tricolor.

Got my wire out for the first time in ages to make the bees' antennas, but made a bit of a hash of them!

Sketch from Carol's Sketch Fun

Also for Cute Card Thursday #67 - A stitch in time

Supplies: cuttlebug embossing folders, white embroidery thread, orange gems, copic markers, Gorjuss girl stamp, fence and bees from Messy Rabbit stamp set, silver peel off greeting

Elzybells 2!

Elzybells Challenge part 2 - the Union Jack!

Pat very kindly sent me a set of these stamps for my birthday - coloured her with copic markers and coloured in her red top, shoes and gift bag with red stickles; stickles also added to the little cakes along the bottom.

Also fits the challenge from Three Clovers Thursday #20 - red, white and blue

Have a Magic Birthday!

The challenge over at High Hopes #37 this week is Stars or Stripes ... so I used both!

The sketch is from Inspirational Card Sketches #23 and the colour theme from Stamp with Fun #13 - turquoise and brown

Supplies: Silver peel off stars and greeting; stamp from High Hopes; paper from DCWV Dog Scrapbook paper; copic markers; buttons from stash

Happy Birthday Budster!

Ruby made this card (...bear with me...) for Budster the dog, or should I say His Lordship Laurence, who posted a challenge on his owners blog (Kath) to make him a birthday card! (...Budster's a lot cleverer than Ruby, she hasn't mastered this typing lark yet!)

The hand written, or should I say paw written greeting is actually dark green, but the colour came out a bit strange in the photo; and of course as per usual the glue hasn't dried yet, thus the white splodges!

Ruby also managed to incorporate a couple of other challenges in her card:
Sketch from Midnight Madness MMSC8
Colour theme from Stamp TV STVCC19 - blue/gray/amethyst, moss/pine, sand/brown

Simple Wedding Card

Creative Card Crew wants Wedding themed cards for their challenge #17 this week. This is a very Clean and Simple card - used my good ole' cuttlebug for the dots background and then silver embossing for the rings. I just stamped the 'celebrate' sentiment, but I think now I should have silver embossed it too.

Supplies: wedding rings from High Hopes stamps; sentiment from Stampin Up 'Send a Celebration' (I think ... I'm too comfy here to get up and check); swiss dots embossing folder

Grrreat Grad!

I needed to make a graduation card, but don't have any Grad stamps, so came up with this. The gold greeting is a plain 'Congratulations ' with the bit in the middle cut out and then peel off letters spelling 'grad' inserted.

My bear is coloured with Copic markers - just sort of splodged on to give a wee bit of texture.

Sketch from Sketch and Stash Challenge #13, with the optional extra of using an animal stamp. My 'neglected' stash is my gold metallic stars - I bought a pack of these from my local supermarket (I think they were supposed to be table confetti) but I only seem to look them out for Christmas cards.

Supplies: stamp from Stampin Up 'Under the Stars'; paper from Rubber Soul
