Cheap as Chips!

ETA: I won the Sketch and Stash download for this card!
I'm still in Christmas card mode (keep going while the going's good!)

I've found a new challenge blog (well new to me anyway) - DewDrop Craftz. This month's challenge is Cheap as Chips - To make a card, layout or other creation as cheaply as possible, not counting the card blank!! My image is a freebie download from Dustin Pike's site; my ribbon is also a freebie cut from the inside of clothing; and my silver snowflakes were table confetti from my local supermarket a couple of years ago and cost just 50p. I suppose the most expensive thing about the card is the embossing folder but if you work it out as 'cost per use' it must be in the minus figures by now I've used it so much!

Sketch from Sketch and Stash #16 (my new stash being the freebie download)

The Cuttlebug Spot challenge #42 is to use your favourite embossing folder, and the snowflake one is definately mine!

A very Pink Thank You!

Isn't Little Lotte just adorable - Pjay very kindly sent me a few of these images - go visit her blog to see her wonderful creations and her range of these stamps!

Sketch from Sketch Saturday #62 - took me a while to get my head round it but I quite like how it turned out.

Allsorts Challenge #12 is a recipe - 3 flowers, 2 papers, 1 ribbon.
My 3 flowers are a brad, a gem and a charm.
The 2 patterned papers are freebies from http://www.thehybridchick.com/

Coloured with watercolour pencils.

Winter Wonderland

Don't know what's happened me today ... the sun is shining and its really warm, but I'm in a Christmas mood!

This sketch is from Winter Wonderland #10. I ran out of room for my sentiment, so put it up the side instead (silver peel off)

Stamp from Pink Gems Designs. Silver snowflakes from Tesco's a couple of years ago ... think its supposed to be table confetti and was a total bargain at 50p! Coloured with copic markers. Black Stickles added to snowman and Diamond ice to the little boys hat and boots. Snow writer used for the snow on the ground. Watercoloured the BG slightly for the sky - looks better in real life, makes the snowman pop a bit more.

Thank you Cow!

High Hopes challenge #42 is Go for the Gold- so I used gold EP for my Penny Black cow and the sentiment, gold peel off borders and little gold gems in the centre of all the flowers.
Sketch from Create4fun challenge #31 (though I've just noticed I forgot to put the ribbon on ... Doh!)
Pile it on #9 is to use at least 3 flowers (I watercoloured some white primas to match the cow's flowers)
Penny Black Saturday challenge #60 is Summer, and summer to me says 'flowers'!
And finally Our Creative Corner is to use purple as the main colour.

Baaaa humbug?

I was looking through my box of Christmas stash and found this little sheepey that I'd forgotten I'd bought months ago!

Simon Says challenge this week is : Let's Get Distressing! I'm no good at distressing edges and nearly didn't enter, but thought I should get a bit of practice. I roughed up my edges on the central panel and then smudged in some green ink. Not sure if I'm happy with it or not!
C.R.A.F.T. challenge #10 is Pink & Green
Sketch from Weekend Sketch Challenge #91
Copic Buzz challenge #7 is Animal Antics - include some type of animal in your creations (I know there's not much colouring on this - I used Cool Grey C3, Blush R20 and Cerise RV06)
Sheep coloured with copic markers; snow added with Snow Writer (mine is so thick and gloopy its so hard to work with, I just sort of ladle it on with a cocktail stick); diamond ice stickles added to hat.

FTL53 Watch out for the Mosquitos!

My friend is going to Croatia for her holidays and has heard that the mosquitos are lethal where she's staying. She's been eating Marmite on toast for the past week (someone told her it kept the mosseys away?!), and just discovered that she'd actually been eating Bovril! Yeugh! I found this stamp when I was making another card and just couldn't resist making her this!

Popped up Magnolia

Popped this little girls dress up using a tutorial I saw on someone's blog, but can't remember who it was ... sorry! You stick the top part of each layer with glue and then pop up the lower parts and it gives a really great effect!

Coloured with watercolour pencils and a white glaze pen used to colour the daisies in the basket. Also used my watercolours to colour the large prima flower, so its the same pink as her dress.

Sketch from Just Magnolia #15

CRAFT Challenge #10 - pink and green

Also for Scrappy Frogs #9 - make a card with a Magnolia stamp.

Antrim Agricultural Show

I went to the Antrim Agricultural Show today for the first time since I was a kid. I wouldn't fancy this boy stepping on my toe ... he weighs over one and a half tonnes!
Now that's what I call a view! Ha Ha!

Little green monster

Sketch from Friday Sketchers #62

Stamp from Whipper Snapper, coloured with watercolour pencils and red copic marker. Popped up once on dimensionals and then his tongue popped up again.
