Birthday Birdies

ShiverRight... that's it ... I've had enough of this snow and cold lark!  I think we need to put a wee tow rope round Ireland and just give it a wee tug south to warm us up a bit!  (it was minus 11 on the way home tonight which is unheard of at that time of evening!)
And we only usually get a couple of days of snow so we're well fed up with it by now!   Though I suppose I should be grateful the roads were driveable today as I was almost stranded in Belfast last night when there was a heavy fall of snow and the roads were impassible - they cancelled my bus but luckily enough I was able to catch what turned out to be the last train home!
And I'm blaming the cold for my lost mojo!  Took me ages to make this simple wee card, I wish I'd mounted it on red c/s before I stuck it to the white base.  Oh well ...!

ETA: I've just had a wee look over my recent posts and all I've done for ages is go on about the cold weather!  So I promise, no more moaning!!  (Mind you, now I think of it we moan here when its 'too hot' too!!)

Mum's Birthday card

ETA: I got top 3 at Oldie but a Goodie with this card

Oh brrr, its another cold cold snowy day here, had planned to do some more Christmas shopping but then the weather closed in all morning so I just made my Mum's birthday card instead!
Lili of the Valley challenge #76 is 'A few of my favourite things' ... my card is to one of my favourite people [who reads my blog ;o)], using my favourite stamps and loads of other favourites too:
  • my lovely copic markers
  • my cuttlebug
  • my silver peeloffs
  • my Martha Stewart Butterfly punch
  • Stickles
  • Bling
So loads of favourites covered there.  Oh and can you count my favourite challenge site ... Simon Says Stamp, whose sketch I've used for this card.

Xmas card #48

OMGosh its such a cold evening here ... was out there with a walk with Ruby (wish I had the inclination to roll in the snow too!)  The snow still has no notion of melting, and its really rubbish snow too ... it fell as wee balls of snow and then froze solid so its no good for making snowmen!
But I have to share the fabulousness that is my new sheepskin slippers ... best investment of the winter, my cold toes always have something to look forward to now! (and Greg's delighted too, now that he doesn't have cold feet stuck to him in bed!!)

Sketch from A Gem of  a Challenge #10 - but I forgot about their optional extra of no red or green, and then I ran out of room so had to move the position of the sentiment!

Pink Elephant #89 - blue, green and red

Stamp with Fun #87 - Advent

Copic Creations #40 - Light Source ... mine is coming from just off centre

Supplies
Stamp: High Hopes snowman; whimsy ticket die and sentiment
Papers: oldies from Dovecraft I think
Accessories: copic and promarkers; ranger glossy accents; martha stewart edge punch; blue gems; smooch illuminate on his jumper/hat; Aleenes True Snow

Will's Birthday card

I'd almost run out of silver peel off letters and was having panic symptoms as I love 'em for personalising cards, but luckily my Mum found a new supply!  Thanks Mum!  I kinda wish I'd used silver peel offs for the Happy Birthday sentiment though.
The green sparkly edge is another adhesive peel off, but its raised and gives a great 3-d feel

Xmas Tag

Apologies in advance for the blogger overload this evening ... I've a couple of days off work so spent it Christmas shopping (got loads sorted!) and making cards!
Really Reasonable Ribbon challenge #13 is to make anything but a card with a Winter theme, so I combined it with a couple of tag challenges this week.

Papercraft Star #23 is to Create a Holiday Gift Tag Using...
  • Cardstock
  • Patterned Paper
  • Stamp and/or Die Cut (Cricut or Other)
  • Ribbon or Twine
  • Gems or Pearls

I used a plain white scrap of ribbon and then a wee pink scrap knotted over the top of it.  Added clear gloss and glitter to the snowflake (marianne creatible die) and the white strip at the bottom, and one of my new ticket stamps as the sentiment.

Sick Doggy

Ohhhh its another bitterly cold day, no sign of this snow shifting yet!  We don't 'do' snow in Northern Ireland, give me a good rainy day any time!  Though at least its not a patch on what they're getting over the pond in England and Scotland.
I've been making some doggy themed cards for a Chrissy pressie for a friend who runs a dog visiting charity (where dogs visit hospitals and residential homes) so thought I'd share one of them.  This one uses a Heltz cuppleditch stamp (at least I think that's how you spell it, too lazy to get off the sofa and go and check!)

I bought this little puppy last year in the January sales, isn't he a cutie!  Added loads of stickles to the dog's scarf and to the big snowflake, and used clear gloss topped with stickles for the ice.

Almost missed the High Hopes challenge #98 - this week its a sketch, though I misjudged the size of my sentiment and had to stick it to the bottom instead of to the side.
Don't forget there's a new release this week from HH ... link in my sidebar.
