I've just posted my first card as part of the Sweet'n Sassy Digi Blog DT ... I'd love it if you popped over for a proper look!

It's all Jo's fault..!

Well she MADE me buy them (...well OK she posted some super cute cards made with these digis on her blog!)  The thing is, I only bought two (this one and a Christmassy one) but I think I can hear my Visa going Kerching on some more!
Couldn't get this to photograph right - the BP is more of a lime green IRL. Oh well, look on the bright side - at least the nights are on the turn now and it won't be long till we get the brighter evenings.

Sketch from Get Sketchy #19

Fussy & Fancy Friday's first challenge is NEW - so I used my newest digi purchase

Bee Crafty challenge #21 is a Thank You card

Our Creative Corner's challenge is Clean and Simple

My friend got an MBE !

How cool is that!  She was awarded the MBE in the Queen's New Year's Honours List for Services to the Community - she runs a doggy charity where dogs are brought into hospitals and retirement homes.  So she'll be heading off to Buckingham Palace in a month or two, how exciting!

This little card follows the sketch from Just Us Girls #14.  The letters and borders are all silver mirror card, so its lovely and shiney.  Little bear from Penny Black and sentiment from Simon Says.

Three Clovers Thursday #45 is celebration; Penny Black Saturday challenge #82 is New Year celebration. (I'd say not too many others have had such a fab reason to 'celebrate'!)  Charisma Cardz Challenge are celebrating their 1st birthday and the theme is also Celebrations.

Crazy 4 Challenges #18 is polka dots

Copic Creations #19 is fur

High Hopes challenges are back!

I must confess that I have a terrible weakness for High Hopes stamps, so I'm delighted their challenges are back!  This little girl is the first HH stamp I bought - paper pieced her jacket, hat, umbrella and boots (I didn't have any markers to match the DP!)  Added some clear gloss to her wings and to the puddle.  Part of my New Year's resolution was to get out of my comfort zone and try new techniques, so I had a go with Distress Inks (antique linen) on this one.  Hmmmmm.... more practice required me thinks!

Hamish & Ruby!

I've had this little Hamish in my stash for such a long time but keep forgetting about him!  (I think I originally fell for him 'cuase of the Ruby on his jumper!) Coloured with copic markers and the little doggy coloured with clear gloss.

Sketch from The Sugar Bowl #26 - I couldn't get my dimensions right and now that I've really studied the sketch I think its because I cut my strips too wide. The 'please include' part of the challenge is something NEW - I used my new bow maker gadget that I won in Lacey's blog candy and also a new sentiment stamp which I got from Simon Says.

A Thankful Ant !

My card stash is at an all time low, so I'm starting with the Thank You cards.  I won this little ant in a challenge over at High Hopes a while back - his blue body looks better IRL and matches the butterflies in the DP.

Sketch from The Pink Elephant #47 and Thank You theme from Winter Wonderland #31

Lil' Ducky

I received this sweet little ducky in a set from my Mum for Christmas (Peeking Over by Woodware) and thought it would make a cute Any Occasion card.  Coloured with copics and clear glaze added to his beak and feet. (Actually I'm now wondering if he's actually a goose, oh well!)

Card Positioning Systems challenge this week is to use one of their old sketches from 1-147; I used #63

Treehouse Thursday #30 is paper piercing

And the colour combo is from Colour Create #35 - Lemon and Lime, with the optional extra of spring or summer flowers.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year to you all - hope you have a great evening whether you're going out partying or being boring and staying in (....like me!)  Health, Happiness and Peace to you for 2010 (doesn't that date sound funny!)

Thought I'd share some of the lovely handmade cards I got at Christmas.

This little stitched reindeer was from my SIL, there's loads of beading work on this too.

My Mum sent us this gorgeous decoupaged card that she'd asked someone to make for us.  Cool eh?

Emma (aka Mrs Giraffe) sent this cutie

This sweet and sparkly penguin came from Pat

Ginny sent this beauty with some blog candy that I won recently

And finally this lovely card from Brenda - aka Benzi from Splitcoaststampers

Chris's 40th Birthday

Made this card for my BIL's 40th Birthday.  I don't have many male stamps so used this Penny Black one, coloured with copics and mounted on silver card.  I added clear glaze to the icing and my blue stardust pen for the cake filling.

The LO came from the Splitcoaststampers sketch challenge 261.

Polka Doodles #31 is a free theme this week.

Cupcake Crafts #71 is Celebation

A CAS Thank You

Sorry about the rubbish photo - its been dark here all day, I even had the light on at lunchtime.  And its such a cold wind too .... which has just blown down part of our back garden fence ...grrr!  It was also very windy last night and set off the car alarm at 3am ... scared the life out of me! Scared 1

I love clean and simple cards - they take ages to put together but only minutes to actually make!  All this one needed was my flower punch, a silver peel off greeting, silver gems and a clear glitter pen.
I used the colour combo from Colour Create #34.  The theme of Thank You is from both CRAFT challenge #31 and Creative Inspirations #41
